Great staff, best location f-walking distance to beaches and shops in Paia and bus stop for the Maui Bus to take you to Kahului, Airport and transfers to Lahaina etc. Rooms are clean and decent. The manager is unfriendly and known to be crazy (a war veteran). The hostel is dirty, there are bedbugs in some rooms (i've been covered by scratching red dots and they had to close the dorm, spray it, paint it... but still there was some!). I stayed at this hostel for 5 days. It was clean, informal, with a friendly staff. My mattress could have been a little less lumpy, but the overall feel of the place was good. It's only a couple of blocks to Paia. A friendly low-key place with good eatries. And in a couple more blocks you are at the beach. more
