Comfortable walking distance from town. Interesting host, interesting blanket issue. They do hold stuff there for you though, which is always a blessing. Hostels on Maui aren't that great in general, so don't get you hopes up too high - its better to be outdoors! :)

I was only originally planning to stay 4 nights, but ended up extending my stay for an additional 11! Could not recommend this hostel enough. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the tours are great, and the location in Paia is amazing with shops and restaurants and an incredible beach all within walking distance. They are currently in the... More

Such a great hostel, all the staff become your friends as well as the other travellers. The staff were super helpful, and even though they were overbooked made sure everyone had everything they needed. The place is still being refurbished but that just means that every day it is getting even better. The free Netflix was definitely taken advantage of,... More

Wow i dont even know where to start what a fantastic hostel. I had so much fun here and cant recommend it enough. Issac and Laina are the beautiful husband and wife super team who run the joint and are two of the nicest most helpful people on the island. Everything is new refurbished and clean. This hostel was fantastic. It is by far the best I've stayed in (and I've been to a lot!!). I prefered it over to staying in a hotel...it felt like the place to be on Maui. We stayed 4 nights in a private room, which was very clean and nice. It had a great porch/lanai attached which was great for... More

Wonderful hostel! Stayed 5 nights. Located in the beautiful town of Paia. Beach is a 10 minute walk through the town. Great restaurants nearby. Isaac the owner was lovely and super helpful. He has done a great job at renovating the place - everything is brand new and super clean. Tours were excellent - highly recommend the Road to Hana.... More

All the beautiful people 😊 The Aloha Surf Hostel has it all! Most importantly, the staff is easily one of the coolest groups of humans I've ever met! Hands down, they made my days in Maui some of the best I've had. The daily tours are a must!! I was never bored during my stay. They've got a pool table,... More

Well folks, as a long-time traveler & 1 who has grown to hate the sterility of hotels, I've grown an affection to staying in hostels around the world just to "hang-out with a younger crowd". I have stayed at the other hostels in Wailuku & this hostel over the years. With the change of ownership, this hostel has become "the... More
