Our host were very nice, providing an excellent breakfast (I had asked gluten free things and they had bought lots of different bread for me). They also gave very useful tips for surfing in the area. Note that the room can be hot, so don't forget to open the window and ventilate a bit before going to bed. The location... More

This was such a great place for me and my husband! On a budget, and always looking for the alternative version of a vacation - we fell in love with this place. It's RIGHT on the beach! We saw giant sea turtles, swimming on the water and sleeping on the beach. The house is clean, stocked with local and organic... More

We spent 4 nights here last year in the Waterfall Room and I must say that while some of the negative comments are not fabricated, overall the place is really nice. Yes, the beach is public and there are some locals playing music late at nights but we slept fine. The room was really small (smallest in this place, others... More

Spent 5 nights in the Ocean View suite on the second floor. If you like the sound of the surf breaking outside your window this is the place to stay. Nice seating area with a flat screen tv for watching the Olympics. Little kitchenette came in handy for getting going in the morning. This part of Maui is awesome, definitely... More

When we first arrived we were impressed; huge house with cathedral ceilings, right on the ocean, right next to a small public beach, and just far enough out of town to avoid the crowds...or so we thought. Our room (the Sunset) had a lanai with ocean view, bathroom ensuite, and a separate little balcony overlooking the front door and driveway.... More

Stayed here in February. Good points, well priced, clean rooms Bad points - right next to a public beach with lots of partying and noise going on. PEople from beach come onto the property and when we were there some unknown from the beach puked outside the kitchen door and threw guests shoes all over the beach. Had to get... More

If you are looking for a quiet place in a great location this is for you. If you want to feel like a local and feel like you rented a whole house this is for you. We stayed on the "Waterfall" room February 2012, which is the smallest room in the house with the only view going out to the... More

My first time at a B & B was interesting.....the best thing about it is the beach right off the backyard!!!! The first night I was there, which was Thanksgiving, there were people partying in the beach access lot right next to the house with the booming bass of the reggae continuing well past midnight.....and the Waterfall Room is on... Out of our two week stay in various location in Hawaii, for our Honeymoon, this was by far our favorite place to stay. The second floor suite was beautiful. The view, the sound of the ocean and breeze was second to none. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room is beautiful and loved that they offer a fully stock fridge... More

The best element of the Blue Tile House is by far the view, especially from the upstairs bedrooms. The ocean is just steps away and turtles swim close to shore. For tourists looking to stay away from "touristy" areas, the Blue Tile House's location just outside Paia is good. However, close proximity to a public parking lot and public beach... More
