Based on the web site Lumeria appears to be heaven on earth. However my experience there with a private yoga retreat was quite the opposite. I have been to yoga retreats all over the world and this has been the most disappointing. To start, after sending me to two occupied rooms the receptionist found me a room. Nice enough. She... More

Lovely eclectic beautifully decorated rooms and hallelujah no TVs! Yoga and other classes plus healthy organic breakfast (varies daily) included in the cost of the stay. Had a 2 room suite. Delightful. High ceilings, fans, and state of the art bathroom. Staff was courteous and the manager was present and genuinly concerned about each guest's experience. Beautiful grounds, tranquility, hammocks... More

I came to this property through a last minute recommendation as a retreat I had booked into on the Big Island was cancelled. At first I was a little nervous re staying here after reading a few of the reviews. Firstly, the Lumeria staff were efficient and prompt over email with my bookings and requests. They did tell me that... More

We just returned from our amazing trip to Maui. We stayed at the wonderful Lumeria!! Douglas (manager), Aubrey and Tina (front desk) were warm, friendly and wonderful hosts!! Douglas is a terrific manager, often walking the grounds and asking guests how things are going. He often asked us how our stay was going. Aubrey was just a doll. We ended... More

I arrived with a friend for a seven night stay. My friend was enticed by the photos, available yoga classes, and zen quality as well as the overall misconception that it provided luxury and first class service with a serene no frills but elegant accommodations. We had two separate rooms. So let's start with what was pleasant. The grounds are... More

We stayed for 2 nights last week in the middle of our honeymoon in Hawaii. We were warmly welcomed and taken to our room even though we had arrived a little early, my husband was also helped to make a massage reservation for the same afternoon which he thoroughly enjoyed and sitting outside was very peaceful that afternoon. I am... More

My husband and I left a suite at the Four Seasons on the other side of the island to come to Lumeria, and we were so glad we did! Everything about the retreat is magical. The grounds are exquisite. The room was comfortable and quiet. We absolutely appreciate the fact that there are no phones or TVs in the rooms... More

We booked an expensive room (600.00 + $ ) to get some rest before travelling by car the next day. The result was disappointing : bugs running over the celing during the night , no room phone to contact the reception , some guests making noise till midnight . The dinner at the "restaurant" is pratically a cafeteria were you... More

Sort of a late submission, we visited at the beginning of July 2013. We did not spend the night but came for dinner. First the positive, the grounds are gorgeous. Very manicured and zen like. The hammocks were great. The Sanctuary is gorgeous beyond belief, beautiful crystals and Buddhas, the decor was amazing. Now for the constructive criticism. We booked... More
