Cherie and her other guests were by far the highlight of our stay at Hale Ho'okipa. I wish we had booked sooner so we could have stayed there our whole time in Maui rather than just 4 nights! Cherie is an incredible human being who has poured her heart and soul into her B&B, and it shows. The historical plantation... More

We had booked here for a few days as we hadn't been able to get into our VRBO for our whole stay. We loved everything about Hale Ho'okipa Inn, and had wished we'd stayed there the whole time! I loved poking about the house and gardens, each foray bringing some new delight, from ponds and shady corners, to a wonderful... More

Love this Place!! This is my 4th stay with Cherie; been coming here once a year in December to enjoy the 'magic' of Maui. Cherie is a welcoming host and very knowledgeable about the island who can recommend amazing places to visit; many of them treasures that only folks who live here know about. The B&B is in an old... My husband and I stayed here in our last stretch of our honeymoon last month, and let me say it was the best decision we have made. The place feels like your home, and the house owner (Cherie) is really friendly and extremely helpful! If you need to know the right places to go to in Maui, she is the... More

We stayed 2 nights with Cherie in August. Prior to arriving, I had read her blog and exchanged emails with her, so I knew what to expect. We arrived finding the house clean, quiet, and our Rose room perfectly comfortable. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, Cherie is often off-site and offers self-check-in by placing paper instructions with... More

Aloha, I so enjoyed meeting you folks! Our conversations were authentic, and we had a great connection. Upcountry is a very special place to explore and I'm happy you enjoyed yourselves and got into the spirit of of our Maui home. We are truly blessed to live here, and when my guests are happy here, so am I. Some people... More

We spent at Hale Ho'okipa five nights, besides another party of two which mostly spent only one or two nights there we were the only guests (in August!). We have a lot of B&B experience around the globe (Europe, Africa, Australia). What we like at an B&B is the passion of landlords and landladies, they typically generate an atmosphere where... More

Aloha, Hmm, this was an interesting experience. 99.9% of my guests are happy, comfortable, and enjoy their experience here. I know there is always someone who may not be a good fit. When I got home the first day of his arrival, I noticed some furniture from the guest room in the middle of the living room and was surprised.... More

Stayed with Cherie at Ho'okipa the last night of our trip to be closer to airport (had been in Hana). The house is incredibly charming and restful and our room (we stayed in the Kona Wing) was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. The room and bath were very clean and everything was well maintained. Plenty of screened windows... More

We came to Maui for my brothers funeral. Friends on the island recommended this B&B. Cherie, the Innkeeper , was gracious and helpful. I like my coffee early in the morning, so she had it set up, so all I had to do was start it. We loved the fresh fruits, some from her property, the local breads and jams... More

What a little gem in the super underrated Makawao town. A 20 min, scenic drive from Haiku/Paia, 30 min to Twin Falls, super secluded. Beautifully furnished, Asian touches everywhere. We stayed in the Rose room, just cozy enough for 3 of us. Fruity yard, fruit breakfast, sweet hospitality from Cheri, as from her neighbors and animals:)

My friend and I stayed in Hale Ho'okipa Inn for a couple days on our first trip to Hawaii. We stayed in the Jasmine room. We used the kitchen and found everything we needed. The inn is very nicely furnished, very cozy and has lots of rustic charm. Breakfast was awesome. There were a large variety of breads and spreads (10+... More
