We just returned from a week in Maui and spent 2 nights at one of our favorite places - the Royal Lahaina Resort (we were in a time-share property nearby for the remainder of our stay). We have been staying at this resort every few years for the past 25 years and still love it. The rooms, at least in... More

The royal lahaina is well situated on the ocean in kaanapali. Nice sunsets from here. We stayed at the kaanapali ocean resort, which is part of the complex but much less expensive. You get to use all the amenities at the royal. Food there was good but expensive. Wait staff very friendly. Two pools and tiki bar, again all right... More

Returned to this gem for a second visit. Stay in the main building for the new/modern rooms. It is worth the "upgrade". The grounds cottages/rooms are more spacious, but are older. The beach is impeccable and highly sought after (the erosion on Kaanapalli is really dramatic though). Do not hesitate to stay here, but it does feel that prices at... More

The resort was good - with nice upgraded rooms in the tower. Self parking is a problem - it is a long walk from the tower/cottages. Also many of the closer the parking spaces are too small to fit standard rental cars. The parking goes full when they are having an event (including Luau), and you will end up having... More

The staff was not very friendly. We had booked through a travel agents and had breakfast included with our room. At check in they did not have us down for breakfast and would not offer no assistance in clearing this up. We booked partial ocean view and at check in asked for a higher floor as recommended we were given... More

The property is beautiful and well maintained. The parking attendants at the entrance are good ambassadors for the hotel and the front staff are patient and helpful. We purchased the prepaid breakfasts and the selection of pastries, egg dishes, meat dishes, cereals, fruits, juices, was worth the investment. Seating outside was wonderful. Watch out for the birds. The birds will... More

We were disappointed in the Royal Lahaina. The room was nice, but the staff was not friendly or helpful. The layout of the grounds is odd- the hot tub is next to the tennis courts no where near the hotel or pools. We reserved 2 double beds but when we arrived there were no double rooms available- I slept on... More

This was our 2nd stay here and we stayed for 14 nights. We had room 8006 which had a nice view out to sea and Molokai in the distance. The room was clean and bright with the most comfortable bed I have ever had in a Hotel. We had the breakfast buffet package also. The breakfast was good with fruits... More

This is my 2nd stay at Royal Lahaina in 7 years. This is a grand old hotel on beautiful grounds. Both times we've stayed in a garden cottage that opened onto a lanai surrounded by tropical plumeria, hibiscus, palms, ferns and bamboos... Red crested cardinals hop up to your feet in the hopes of a snack. We didn't need flipflops... More

I am a travel professional and I recently stayed at the Royal Lahaina (Feb 28-Mar 5, 2015). I had a very nice room with a nice oceanview. The rooms are well appointed with a small fridge in the room. The staff at the resort, especially the front desk is very friendly and helpful. The resort sits on a great stretch... More
