We have been home for a few days and have had time to reflect on our eight days in Maui. We stayed at three locations on three sides of the island. Since we were at your place first it set the benchmark which neither of the other two came close. Four thumbs up.

We went to Hawaii for a friend's wedding -- it was our first time in Hawaii and our first time at a B&B. When we saw the place, we were disappointed with the way it looked -- the pictures they have on their website are very deceiving. All of the shots that you see of the beach are not from... More

My husband and I spent a week at this perfectly located bed and breakfast as part of our 5th anniversary trip to Hawaii. We didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a place to stay because we knew that we would be on the go trying to see and do everything in Maui and not spending that much time... More

This IS a tough review to write. The property is gorgeous. It is smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood but behind the gates is paradise. The owners obviously take a great deal of pride in it's appearance. There is a beautiful deck for sunsets and a grill and frig for your use. Bill, the host, was quite gracious... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find this delightful place. At first glance it seems to be smack in the middle of a neighborhood but once you enter the garden, you are tucked away in delightful solitude. Bill filled us in on the local haunts and offered coupons for local restaurants. Breakfast was simple but fresh and served in the beautiful... More

On the afternoon of March 31st myself as well as my wifes jaws dropped when we saw this place. From the moment we parked our vehicle and went thru the front gate we discovered this place to be paradise. This place really is a garden with tropical plants everywhere. We observed 2 running waterfalls in the court yard. At night... More

What a wonderful way to start our vacation in Hawaii!!! The room was spacious and very clean. I especially enjoyed our private garden where we could go anytime. You could have lovely Hawaiian music playing, listen to the brook and the waterfall or just sit at breakfast visiting with the other guests. We shared our adventures and many of the... More

Stayed at the Garden gate for a week. Jamie and Bill (the owners) were very friendly. I rented the ocean view room, which was INCREDIBLE! The view was spectacular, and the room was very nice. A great location- away from the bustle of Front Street, and also far enough from the resort area of Kaanapali. Both of these areas were... More

I too am a travel professional (Captain, at a major airline). We really enjoyed this place! Jaime, Bill and Misty the dog were friendly and gracious hosts. Bill really knows Hawaii and especially Maui. With his help, we explored places I did not know existed. Jaime was also a pleasure to speak with and very accomodating. Several of the guest... More

We stayed at Garden Gate over Christmas 2004, and would recommend it with some qualifications. Above all, make absolutely sure that you're *not* getting one of the small second floor rooms ("Standard/Budget Suite") -- our room was too small for us and our luggage and the bathroom was uncomfortably tiny. We were upgraded into a larger room (the "Deluxe Studio,"... More
