If it weren't for being in one of the most beautiful places on earth, this trip would have been a complete bust. The hotel itself is in the Royal Lahaina Resort, so you get access to everything they offer. But it's obvious that the Kaanapali Ocean Inn gets put on the backburner when it comes to any repairs or renovations.... More

If you have young Children or a senior citizen that can't maneuver stairs - don't check in and be fooled by the affordable rate. No elevators ! If you're traveling through for a few nights on a honeymoon and on a budget - don't ruin your trip either! If you have other choices on this tropical paradise - go for... More

This is a great hotel for budget minded travelers. Of course the oldest hotels have the best beach locations because they got there first. From my balcony I had both a mountain view and an ocean view. I could also enjoy the beautiful music from the Luau. Room has everything I needed including a fridge, and was quite comfortable. My... Worst place I've ever stayed at. The room had tons of various bugs and trails of ants. When I was closing the sliding door lizard fell on my head! On the second day of our stay we found a note that they will fumigate entire Inn due to bugs and asked us to gather our belonging in one spot and... More

Just got back from staying at the ocean beach inn, in Maui. It was amazing , don't know where these other people that left bad reviews were staying. The room.was very clean and was cleaned everyday . The carpet was clean and dry, our room.was on the top floor ,ocean view right over the entrance to the beach that was... More

Though the Royal Lahaina Luau is housed at this hotel, and the beach access is great, the rooms at the "Ocean Inn" portion of the property were not in good shape. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and the rooms need serious updating. You would think that the parking would be free after dealing with those things, but no, it's $10... More

We have a time share on Maui and stay there whenever go to Maui. On this last trip, because of flight issues, we had to come in one day early and couldn't get into our time share until the next day. We stayed here one night. We chose the location primarily because of the cost. I didn't want to drop... More

Let's talk. There is a big difference between inexpensive and cheap. I took a chance on this because I thought 'how bad could it be' and "we won't be spending much time in it anyway." Unless you are a college kid and are used to a musty, dank, dark dorm room that comes with that expensive education your parents paid... More

When you think of kaanapali perfect views and well kept properties come to mind, but don't expect the Ocean Inn to live up to this expectation. The rooms aren't kept clean, the woodwork is a mess, the walls are dirty and the furnishings are ancient. The facet in the bathroom had green mold under the handle that you couldn't get clean... We booked an ocean view room for 3/30/14 after having ignored previous negative reviews since we only needed one night before flying out the next day. The shower was dingy and stained and it was so small that the shower curtain kept blowing on while trying to shower, the reflective silver on the mirror in the bath was seriously flaked... More
