Like most other reviewers, the warning IS that this property is definitely for the budget minded traveler who does not mind some outdated decor and lack of elevator. With that said, the building is only 3 stories tall and the stairs weren't that difficult. If this Hawaiian trip is a "big" trip for you, then I may not recommend the... more

As mentioned by this reviewer the Kaanapali Ocean Inn, although marketed as a separate property is located on the grounds of the Royal Lahaina Resort and offers guests full access to the resort amenities of the Royal Lahaina. The Kaanapali Ocean Inn offers guests standard room accommodations in a premier oceanfront resort setting, at a very economical price. For guests...

The Kaanapali Ocean Inn is the economical part of the Royal Lahaina Resort on Ka'anapali Beach near Lahaina, Maui. For the rate of $97USD/night, this price was quite reasonable. The hotel/motel rooms are quite dated, however were quite clean. Although housekeeping do a fair cleaning job, upon arrival we found our shower entirely dirty with mud and sand, but the... more

My Husband and I stayed here for our Honeymoon in April. We thought it was a perfect place for us. It was very quiet and ALL of the staff were VERY nice. When we checked in we were actually upgraded to an ocean view room at no extra charge!! The hotel is a bit older and some what out of... more

This place is really for budget travelers. It's like a motel for truck drivers. I would give it a zero if that was an option. We arrived at the Royal Lahaina and checked in thinking it might be decent. They gave us real keys. That should have been a sign. Only old dingy hotels still use these kind of locks.... more

As indicated by this reviewer the Kaanapali Ocean would suit budget travelers who are seeking standard accommodations in a resort setting. The Kaanapali Ocean Inn offers 60 rooms in a three story walk-up building, located on the oceanfront grounds of the Royal Lahaina Resort. Rooms offering no view (facing luau), garden view, ocean view and oceanfront views are available. Guests...

Here is the scoop on this place. The Kaanopali Ocean Inn is actually closed (for remodeling/refurnishing I think). Because it is in accessible, your reservation goes through the Royal Lahaina Resort (owned by same people, located right next store). We checked in at the Royal Lahaina resort and the man said that we were upgraded (because Kaanapali Ocean Inn is... more

Aloha. The Kaanapali Ocean Inn is a small 64 unit economical accommodation option located on the 27 acre grounds of the Royal Lahaina Resort. The Kaanapali Ocean Inn is not currently undergoing remodeling or refurnishing. Guests making reservations at the Kaanapali Ocean Inn are booking rooms for that specific economical accommodation type and should anticipate being accommodated in the Kaanapali...

I booked a room at the Kaanapali Ocean Inn and when I checked in I asked to be upgraded. Which they did, and put me in the Royal Lahaina town with an ocean view room, Those rooms go for $379. I only paid $174 per night for the KOI. The Kaanapali Ocean Inn looked addequit. I even peeked in a... more

We reserved a room at the Kaanapali Ocean Inn which is part of the Royal Lahaina Resort in Maui and upon check in we were kindly upgraded to one of the "cottages". The cottages were spread out with lots of grass, trees, flowers and open space between each other. We had a private lanai (patio) too. It was very safe,... more

When we arrived there they didn't have 2 double beds that we requested so they gave us a King size bed and a roll-away bed for my friend. Our room was right next to the Luau stage so every night we got to watch the show. Every morning my friend ran on the beach and my husband and I slept... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in june this year and although the hotel is really in need of a facelift, decoration wise, it is a good value hotel compared to others in the area. The location is ideal, at the quiet end of Kanaapali beach and you can use all of the facilities of the Royal Lahaina... more

My cousins were staying at the Royal Lahaina and invited us over from Oahu for a night. We flew in, drove a convertable over and planned on spending one night and attending the Luau (slightly cheesy but alot of laughs and the pork is unreal) and visiting Front street and Maui and spending time with my family who live in... more
