We stayed at Makani Sands #309 for 8 nights. We were a group of 8 (max occupancy), but it did not feel crowded. Our kids chose to sleep on the floor (carpeted--kind of rare in a tropical location, but welcome), so we did not utilize the pullout sofa. Had we done so, there would have been enough beds for all.... More

My wife and I stayed at Makani Sands for 5 days at the end of June for her birthday. We were there with her two sisters and their spouses for a total of 6 people. We were assigned condo #302. The condo was a spacious 3 bedroom with a full kitchen and 2 1/2 baths. The decor was interesting but... More

We stayed at Makani Sands for two weeks in March. Located in Honokawai, Makani Sands is a small condo with around 30 units. All the units are owned and it is not part of a timeshare. The units are spacious, clean and all oceanfront. Each unit has washer, dryer, dishwashers which are great. As it is an older building, it... More

first time in Maui. Stayed 2 weeks! Our stay at 301 was such a wonderful experience! Sunset was surreal! Turtles everyday! Unit was clean, well maintained! Master bedroom was awesome! Loved it! Lighting was romantic. Lights have dimmers from living room to bedroom. Kitchen was complete. Carpet was soft and clean. If you stay in big resorts, you wont get... More

Our return visit to Unit 106 at Makani Sands was excellent. Many perks: AMAZING view, relaxing on the Lanai with coffee or drinks, bbq ready for use, nice pool, ocean which is RIGHT OUT THE PATIO DOOR! This place is amazing. We took our 6 month old and we had so much fun in the pool, the ocean, and walking... More

We shared a 3 bedroom condo, #305, with our daughter, son-in-law and 7 year old grandson for a full week in June 2013. It was perfect for us. Our favorite place was the lanai off the living area, facing the beach and the ocean. The grounds here are very nice and immaculately groomed. The location is perfect; lots of places... More

Stayed with family in a 3 BR condo in March 2013. The upkeep of the area surrounding the ocean was immaculate. The lawns looked great, with tiki torches lit in the evenings. Use of a BBQ gas grill was available, with lawn chairs. The ocean out front had a number of sea turtles, but little in the way of beach.... More

We (two adult couples) shared one of the threeBR condos at Makani Sands for two weeks. This is a two story unit, sitting above a one bedroom, ground floor unit. MasterBR is ocean-front with its own lanai and ensuite bath, king bed, flat panel TV and ample closet and drawer space - very nice. Second top floor BR also has... More
