We stayed in unit 415. It had a great lanai with great views of the sunset. The turtles feed right on the reef/rocks at the water. You can see them with binoculars from the lanai in the morning. The pool was clean and the pool area was very nice. Great landscaping. The observation deck was pretty cool as well. There is no beach at this place and you really can't even walk to the beach from the grounds. You can walk up the street to a park to get to a beach. We found that the beaches in Kihei were much, much nicer. We will definitely be staying in Kihei next time as we really like to hang out on the beach. Kihei is almost an hour drive from the Hale Ono Loa. If you are traveling on a budget or want to stay in West Maui and don't really care about hanging on the beaches, this is a great place. We can only suggest to bring your own beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and boogie boards as there are none in this unit. Parking was always good. We never were without a spot... more
