Overall, The Mauian is a great place to stay. The location is superb, and really is only a few steps to the beach. The accommodations are dated, but everything operates and is efficient, except for one thing. The WIFI is extremely poor! If you are planning to unplug from life completely, then no problem. But I wanted to read emails... More

This is our second time staying at the Mauian, and it's a perfect choice for us: no TV or phone in the room, and no noisy air conditioning. The rooms are designed to catch the breeze, so even in August we were comfortable and able to hear the ocean at night. The studio includes an adequately equipped tiny galley kitchen... More

We've stayed here a number of times, and it's a great place for a family vacation. The plants are gorgeous, and the beach is perfect for small kids and also has good snorkeling. I personally like that there are no phones or tvs in the rooms, and limited wi-fi. I'm also fine with no air conditioning, since the breezes are... More

The setting is outstanding. The price is very good. Fantastic beaches within very short distance. The problem is the noise. There is no air conditioning so you must leave your windows open. That means you hear every snap, crackle and pop of your neighbors. When another guest sneezes, you feel like you need to say "Gesundheit." A crying baby is... More

On our return to The Mauian last Christmas, it was all we remembered and more. It doesn't matter what's happening on the mainland, Maui is always beautiful. The Mauian's grounds are very well-maintained -- the plantings are lush, colorful, and healthy -- and the pathways are always cleared and easy to walk on. The rooms are cool -- both in... More

WONDERFUL LOCATION!!! It was quite handy to shopping, groceries, restaurants, etc. Good breakfast....lots of fresh fruit. The staff was wonderful. On site laundry and kitchenettes made things very easy. Had never been to Hawaii before and this was a great introduction.

The Mauian is a little paradise in paradise. We enjoyed our stay so much, the staff is so friendly, the rooms are arranged with so much love to detail. It was an unforgettable experience and everything was like I visited the Mauiam five years ago in 2010. In the end I would return again, because I can't imagine that there... More

Stayed in rooms 222 and 111 during July 4th weekend. Room 222 - Pool view on second floor with mini fridge, carpet, microwave, stand up shower, and 2 queen beds. Bed was excellent and being on the second floor away from the beach definitely gave us that extra privacy. I put some beers in the mini fridge overnight and they... More

The Mauian is a very small, old Hawaii, non resort boutique motel/hotel. It has quite small studio rooms, some have kitchenette areas as you enter and a small shower bathroom. (There are only two floors in the entire place), a small shallow pool and all units have small lanais with little privacy. There is no A/C, no tv or phones... More

We stayed in a double room overlooking the pool it was fantastic. The beach is in your door step with a few restaurants/bars on the cove. The pool area is nice with bbqs available for your own meal on a night, most people where using them at some point in there stay. We used them 3 times after going to... More
