We stayed here because it was close for sunrise on Haleakala. Our host, Michael, had thought of everything that a person could need from the sunrise experience to a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Accommodations where spacious, clean and had great views. Excellent value for the price.

This place is conveniently located if you are planning to go for the sunrise at Haleakala. The house is beautiful. We booked the tapa room in the main floor with a small deck facing the street. It's a nice room with a king size bed and a large bathroom (shower and tub). Michael and Gaby are a nice hosts. Michael... More

The location of this B&B is perfect, away from the maddening crowds. Kula and Upcountry are fantastic. Of course the main attraction is Haleakala but there is so much more to do in this area, and Michael can help you in every way. The rooms are large and clean. They have their own lanai with an incredible view. But of... More

We stayed for three nights to explore eastern Maui (Hana and Haleakala). Couldn't have been happier with our choice. The property is in excellent condition. The rooms are clean, large, and welcoming. Michel was a great host. He provided advice on seeing the area and was equipped with a variety of items to make our different explorations more enjoyable (beach... More

We picked Upcountry Bed and Breakfast because we wanted to watch the sunrise on Haleakala and Upcountry was close by. We had emailed with our host Michael prior to our arrival so he knew what we had in mind. An early dinner on Friday and the sunrise on Saturday morning. When we arrived, Michael was there to greet us along... More

The very chatty host is super friendly, instructions are very detailed for everything you need, comfort is top-notch, the view/location is awesome, close to everything you need in Kula and to the access road to Haleakala. With more time, we would gladly have stayed there much longer.

Our stay at the Upcountry B&B was perfect, I wish we would of stayed longer in fact! The room was great, the breakfast was good and the host is very nice (and the dog too!). He gives great suggestions of where to go around the B&B, which is very helpful. I strongly recommend staying there, it is worth it :)

Could not have found a better place for our Maui trip. Our host was very accommodating, gave us a quick overview of the B&B and great advice on reaching Haleakala and Hana. The room and bath were spacious and spotless, with a view that can't be beat. There's a wonderful bistro just a couple minutes away, and a general store... More

I got a kick out of the reviews, and decided to book here. Great choice if you are planning trips to Haleakala for sunrise and the Road to Hana. Clean, interesting place. Michael is wonderful and really knows his stuff. He gives terrific suggestions for day trips, restaurants, etc. Very knowledgeable re: history, local lore, island living. I recommend highly.... Great views of Maui Valley, great sleep, beautiful clean room. Yes the breakfasts were pastries and fruits (plus!), but they were to die for! Micheal's gourmet ingredients and touch were above and beyond. Nice being out of the main city. Nice being part way up to Haleakala Volcano National Park. Initially, we made a mistake in not arriving to the... More
