The very chatty host is super friendly, instructions are very detailed for everything you need, comfort is top-notch, the view/location is awesome, close to everything you need in Kula and to the access road to Haleakala. With more time, we would gladly have stayed there much longer.

Our stay at the Upcountry B&B was perfect, I wish we would of stayed longer in fact! The room was great, the breakfast was good and the host is very nice (and the dog too!). He gives great suggestions of where to go around the B&B, which is very helpful. I strongly recommend staying there, it is worth it :)

Could not have found a better place for our Maui trip. Our host was very accommodating, gave us a quick overview of the B&B and great advice on reaching Haleakala and Hana. The room and bath were spacious and spotless, with a view that can't be beat. There's a wonderful bistro just a couple minutes away, and a general store... More

I got a kick out of the reviews, and decided to book here. Great choice if you are planning trips to Haleakala for sunrise and the Road to Hana. Clean, interesting place. Michael is wonderful and really knows his stuff. He gives terrific suggestions for day trips, restaurants, etc. Very knowledgeable re: history, local lore, island living. I recommend highly.... Great views of Maui Valley, great sleep, beautiful clean room. Yes the breakfasts were pastries and fruits (plus!), but they were to die for! Micheal's gourmet ingredients and touch were above and beyond. Nice being out of the main city. Nice being part way up to Haleakala Volcano National Park. Initially, we made a mistake in not arriving to the... More

Fantastic 2nd floor views from the lanai overlooking the West Maui mountains - On the second floor with stairs only which might be an issue for some. The rooms on the first floor are fully ADA compliant. Gabby and Michael always gracious hosts with a wag of the tail and smile (respectively) Much fun with other guests here as well...

My husband and I stayed here for a night on our honeymoon to Maui, and it was fantastic. We stayed here because we wanted to see the sunrise over the volcano and read the other reviews about how great this place was. The B&B had a wonderful labrador that helped ease my dog-withdrawal, and the manager was very friendly. He... More

I found Upcountry B&B when researching the closest place to stay to go and see the sunrise at Haleakala Crater. Michael was an excellent host and a wealth of knowledge. We booked via the internet and he was extremely helpful from the moment we booked and throughout our stay. He had us well organised with blankets, coats, chairs, thermos of... More

We stayed here for one night because of it's proximity to Haleakala National Park. Michael suggested we eat at Kula Grill when we arrived. The food was delicious and you could BYOB, which can be purchased at the general store across the street. We stayed in the Tapas room, which was nice size room with an enormous bathroom. The room... We have stayed at the beautiful Upcountry Bed and Breakfast once before and again in January for 5 nights. We felt like we were coming home and amongst friends. Michael (the owner) is very attentive and informative regarding all the activities and restaurants on Maui. We loved our jovial morning conversations with him as well as our very clean and... More
