This place is quite nice, close to the beach and affordable. I would highly recommend it if not for the crazy anal retentive owners. We stayed there for a week and got along great with everyone else who stayed there. At the end of our trip we checked out in the morning, but our flight didn't leave till that night,... more

First of all this is more of a hotel than a hostel. The place is really quite nice. I stayed with a female friend of mine and we had two different female roommates and both were very cool. I had serious issues with the owner however. She's a control freak. One of our roommates met a young man from Austria... more

As far as hostels go in Maui SUgar Beach is the best for cleanliness and location. The rooms are adequate, as long as you dont mind sharing your living room with fellow roommates. This makes it awkward if you are early risers and want to have breakfast before you head out as the rooms are shared units(expected with a hostel)... more

I looked on the Internet for a place to stay while I explored the island of Maui, and found the Sugar Beach Inn. I spent a week there and found it the ideal place to stay; more rewarding than I could have imagined. I met wonderful people there from many corners of the world, some of whom I hope to... more

I had a fantastic stay at the Maui Sugar Beach Inn. It was cheap, clean and a ton of fun. I met a bunch of cool people and hung out with them around the pool, had a barbecue, played some ping pong, all around a great time was had. Tracy was the perfect hostess. I would definitely recommend the Maui... more

For my 54th birthday, I decided on a whim, to go to Hawaii as I had never been there before and I picked Maui. Since I was wanting the sun and a beach full time, I did not want to spend a fortune on a fancy hotel, just wanted a reasonable place to sleep and shower. The first place that... more

We had a wonderful time when we were at Maui SugarBeach Inn. Tracy, one of the owners were very friendly and would do the very very best to get you a good stay. Our room was very nice, clean and with A/C, tv and dvd. We did share our bathroom with another room, but that was so OK. The bathroom... more

Well, my personal experience with hostels was really bad since I found the Maui Sugar Beach Inn. The place is wonderful, it's almost on the beach (you can't see the ocean just because some trees, but it's right there!) and it's very peaceful and silent. My room was unbelievably clean and with all what you need: a bathroom and a... more

I was staying at the Sugar Beach Inn for one week a few days ago, and I got to say that it has the best "bed for the buck ratio" that I have experienced so far in Hawaii! I'have been in other hostels on Oahu and Maui in the price range of 25-38$ per night, and the Sugar Beach Inn... more

I got married in Maui this past July and my family plus my husbands family stayed in the Inn. We rented out this entire place, and it was a really good price too for 22 people staying there! There are 4 small apartments taking up the 1st floor of this inn, and the top floor is more like a huge... more
