I contacted the Guest Houses for a last-minute, one-night booking so that we could take our time making the drive to Hana, instead of joining the crowded morning rush. We were effortlessly set up in Hale Manu, and my only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer. The cottages are located a short 3 mile drive from the center... More

We (2 adults and our 16 year old daughter) stayed in the most lovely and most perfectly equipped guest house Hale Manu from June 12-15. The interior is decorated beautifully and the surrounding is magnificent. This is the perfect place to relax and to discover the fascinating Hana and its sourroundings. It's truely a heavenly place for vacation. Thanks a lot... More

Mahalo Chris and Leokane for providing us with the gorgeous Hana Ulu Lulu - a perfectly romantic cottage. Comfortable beds, beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped. We loved arriving to the welcoming open doors, fragrant flowers everywhere and Hawaiian music playing! We regretfully left after only two nights, I recommend staying much longer!

After a very long day to arrive at The Guest Houses at Malanai in Hana was exactly what we needed. Fresh flowers everywhere, beautiful gardens and absolute serenity is what describes this place. Well equipped cottage and attention to detail was apparent throughout. A short walk to the beach along the road. After many days in commercial hotels It took... More

Thank you Chris and Leokane for creating this gorgeous sanctuary in Hana. My boyfriend and I stayed in the couple's cottage, Hale Ulu Lulu, and it was worth every penny - if not more. The place is immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable. Linens, towels, and every square inch of the place was freshly cleaned. Hana was our last stop... More

My Best Friends and I looked into Tulum and Hana House Rentals before deciding on Leokane and Chris' Place in Hana. I wanted to spend my 50th at a hassle-free destination in a tropical locale, with nothing to worry about but Chill-time and serenity. We chose correctly! Our week in Hana at The Guest Houses at Malanai was amongst the... More

We had the privilege to stay only 1 night(next time it will be longer) at the guest house. The location/ grounds were just beautiful and the quaint cottage house was serene and very comfortable. It was a highlight of our week long trip to Maui. Thank you.

A beautiful well appointed cottage on the Hana highway is a little slice of luxury, cooling breezes blow through the house, everything you could possibly need is right the in the house. A sweeping lawn fronts the property as the view looks over the ocean. Just be aware this is out of the town about 5 miles which in Hana... More

We adored our stay in Hana thanks, in part, to this lovely property. We stayed in the two bedroom house for two nights...the location and privacy were just what we desired. Chris & Leokane are marvelous hosts and have excellent recommendations for hikes & sight-seeing. The Bamboo Forest is a must-see! My ONLY regret is that I didn't heed other's... More

This place was great. The house is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well-stocked obviously by someone who likes to cook. There were also lots of little amenities like robes, a bowl of fruit and fresh flowers all around the house when we arrived. The house is just minutes from Hana. We really enjoyed our stay and were reluctant to leave... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We offer two impeccably maintained, fully furnished, ocean view homes in one of Hana’s finest locations. We are directly across from the Maka’alae pasturelands and ocean and also situated within walking distance to world famous Hamoa Beach and Venus Pool. Each home is landscaped for privacy on our approximately two-acre property. We live in a separate home on the property, so you have the security of knowing that your rental is well maintained and though we honor your privacy, we make ourselves available to assist you when needed. Both of our guesthouses have stack washer/dryers, tub and shower combinations (a oversized claw foot tub in Hale Ulu Lulu and a spa tub in Hale Manu) and enjoy the convenience of “on the grid” wi-fi, electricity, free telephone to US/Canada, cable and water. We consistently receive rave reviews on our attention to detail and thoughtfully equipped homes. ... more   less
