We decided at the last minute to drive the Hana Highway and stay overnight before catching our flight out of Kahului. We were able to get suite #3, which is at the corner of the lower building, with an amazing view of the cove and the black pebble beach. Although these are not the most recent vintage, they are very... More

The other reviews that caution you about whether Hana is right for you bear repeating. We had done the Road to Hana on a previous visit to Maui and wanted to spend the night. From the road, the hotel has an almost motel look. The girl at check-in was obviously bored with her job. We stayed in #201, a nice... More

Thank you for taking the time to post this review. Our guest experience is very important to us and we are addressing your concerns: Our WiFi service has been problematic. Ironically, today I received 5 booster units which will be installed in the upcoming weeks with the result being a significantly stronger and faster signal. In addition, we have ordered... More

The room was spectacular - beautifully furnished, gourmet kitchen, extraordinary views. We've stayed in MANY top hotels/inns around the world and this easily ranks as one of my favorites. i would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed two nights in July in Unit 207. Beautiful view, unit was clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed sunrise from the lanai. We hiked to Waimoku Falls at Kipahulu, swam at Hamoa Beach, checked out the brackish caves at Wainipapa State Park, visited Hasegawa General Store daily. Be aware: finding a place to eat in Hana is a challenge. Hotel... More

My husband and I spent two nights in Hana and very much enjoyed the Hana Kai Maui. The kitchen was very well equipped and we appreciated the condiments, etc. left by both the owner and previous guests. Given the limited dining options in Hana, we opted to use the condo complex's BBQ both nights and it was excellent. Do buy... More

We spent the first three nights of our honeymoon at Hana Kai in an oceanfront condo. Hana Kai has 2 buildings - the larger one in the back and the oceanfront one by the beach. (The larger one in the back also has perfect ocean views, but in the smaller one you seen nothing but beach ocean from your balcony.)... More

We stayed in unit #2, the oceanfront studio. It was immaculately clean and nicely decorated. The best part of our stay was spent lounging on the spacious lanai overlooking the bay. After several days of eating out, it was nice to cook for ourselves. The resort also offers laundry facitilies and great beach towels. Hana is such a lovely, peaceful... More

We loved the Hana Kai Maui. Our lanai looked out over a black sand beach and we could hear the waves crashing onshore all night as we slept. The sunrise was fantastic. The gardens surrounding the area were lovely---lots of flowers, colorful plants and koi ponds.

We stayed at the Hana Kai Maui for one night at the end of our vacation to Maui. We had a premium studio which had a queen size bed on the main level and a queen bed in a loft (with stairs.) It also included a small kitchen which was pretty much fully equipped (except it didn't have a dishwasher...not... More

Initially I thought this place was very expensive for what it is ($300). The condos are 1970s archetecture, kinda beachy-shabby. But any shortcomings of the place pale in comparison to the Gorgeous 180 degree views and the general aloha of the place. The tourquoise water, black lava beach, and the calm of the garden setting (no mowers no blowers!) is... More
