No disappointments here. We had a top floor room, so weren't bothered by any footsteps overhead, if that really is a problem. Staff excellent, helpful and personal. Room and amenities well thought out and considerate, attractive furnishings. Toilet and shower separate from sink area, convenient. Great to have coffee, tea, sugar right in the kitchen, along with plastic wrap, tin... More

My wife and I were in Maui earlier this month. After 3 nights in Wailea and the new Andaz Hotel which was nice we rented a jeep with removable hard top(s) and took to The Road to Hana. First stop was the little town of Paia and an incredible lunch at Mama's Fish House and then the magical ride/ trip... More

The Hana Kai is a welcome retreat at the end of a long twisty road. It is situated directly on the black sand beach. The rooms are clean and spacious, and each has a kitchen. The location is quiet and very convenient to restaurants and Hosegawa General Store. It's a great place to stay.

Keep in mind that all units are independently owned. But the grounds are immaculate. You are right there on the beach. A black sand beach no less. Stunning views. It's truly a lovely place to be. If only they could have controlled the darn rain! We had unit 205. Mokuhano. A studio with an ocean view. A spectacular ocean view.... More

These condos were excellent and the perfect location for us. My husband and I brought our parents for an intimate wedding on the beach within walking distance of this charming location. The sea breezes kept us comfortable and cool while the sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep. The condos were charming and had well equipped kitchens to handle... More

Our family of 6 adults chose to stay overnight for one night on this road trip to Hana. We got there around 7:30 pm and it was raining. We had brought food to make dinner in the kitchens. We each had our own rooms and this allowed us to compare units. We had chosen the units ahead of time based... More

If you do the road to hana, definitely stay over night at Hana Kai Maui. It makes such a huge difference on the drive and allows you to take your time instead of rushing through it. We had a great time at Hana Kai Maui. Beautiful views and great lanais to watch the sunrise in the morning time. Fully equipped... More

Spacious and clean condo. Unbeatable view - black sand beach; waves crashing into the rocks. The kitchen is very useful particularly since the area had very few established restaurants to speak of and none of them were good. Lack of A/C was an issue - we got disturbed out of sleep early in the morning thanks to open windows.

Lovely contrast to the high end resorts in Kaanapali or wailea. We had a charming condo that was recently remodeled with granite countertops, stone rain shower with a great lanai that was no more than 50 ft from the crashing waves. No A/C but we didn't need it in April. No tv made unplugging very easy. The beach here is... More

This well-tended spot has an unbelievably friendly staff. They go out of their way to make you happy. The location could not be better. We stayed in the only studio in the front building with a huge lanai. So we were treated to the ocean literally lapping at our feet. All rooms have kitchens, and there is a lovely BBQ... More
