We recently took the "Road to Hana" and stayed at the Hale Kukuna II in the town of Hana for three nights. The home was adequate and was quite clean. It is an upstairs unit with another unit below. The condo overlooks a fishpond and has a view of the ocean. There are several other rental units surrounding the same pond. The facility had two very nice bedrooms with sliding doors that provided adequate ventilation at night. One bedroom had a walk-in shower and the other had a tub. We enjoyed the condo but were annoyed by the constant barking of the neighbor's dog. This was not the fault of the people that we were renting from, but was that of the dog's owners on the adjacent property.

We really enjoyed the beautiful sights found on the way to Hana. The waterfalls in the area are spectacular and we had a great time trying to locate the small churchyard where Charles Lindbergh is buried. My husband said that this section of the road was far more treacherous than the... more
