Our stay at Papalani was a last minute change of plans. We arrived in Hana just past 6pm after a long trip in from Denver. Our original accommodations were with a different guest house near Hamoa Beach and it was pretty much hotel hell. The place was pretty much disgusting and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned at all. We told... More

We just stayed here for 5 nights and all was as described. A great location right outside of town. Sybil is awesome and very caring and friendly. Very quiet location and you would think you were at a perfume factory when you walk the grounds. Fresh bananas and papayas each day. This is THE place to stay in Hana. Very... More

Well kept place, including the lush grounds. Bananas, mangoes and other fruits freely available to guests when in season. We stayed 2 nites and were not bothered by "skeeters". Didn't even have to light the citronella candles provided by Sybil, one of the best "Innkeepers" we have ever met in our travels around the planet. Our experience was first rate.... More

From the turn into the driveway from the Hana Highway I knew this place was going to be special. The fragrant scents that greeted us were immediately complimented by the sight of giant Riposa mangoes hanging from a tree along the entry. They were for our picking. We drove past a sumptuous garden (also for guest use) and met the... More

Soon we will be returning tour beloved Hana and Papalani. We booked 5 nights and we should probably have booked more. Sybil is so nice and getting the reservation and all the details was very smooth. This is our second visit and when coming to our favorite part of Maui we wouldnt think of staying anywhere else. So excited to... More

This unique location really puts you off the beaten path into the tropical setting with banana trees everywhere. Sybil proudly shows off this jungle setting and unique plants that she has nurtured for 12 years to their grandeur today. Yes, it was the rainy season in Hana, but we loved watching and hearing the rushing river outside our unit. We... More

Visiting some new friends, I had the chance to go to Maui and stay at the Papalani a wonderful B&B. The room was spotless and at $160.00 a night, I was able to stay a few days and really enjoy the sites and my new friends. The whole place felt like being in a jungle. The bed was very comfortable... The first thing you'll notice when you arrive at Papalani is that it's off the beaten track. You will be entering a pleasant escape from the normal accommodations you may be use to. Sybil and Tracy are the proprietors of these three private residences offered. Peaceful is the word for this jungle-like setting. You'll be surrounded by an orange morning... More

This is my first ever trip advisor review. I use the resources here all the time so thought I should finally give back. Sybil's place is perfect. If you are like me you search the internet for neat places to take your family. As Sybil once said to me it's time to jump in, you have found the perfect place... More

We stayed in the garden room for two nights in June 2011 with our two teenagers. The room was private, very large, with a tile floor, fans, three queen beds, an inside toilet, an outside shower with solar-heated hot water, and a little outside screen-enclosed kitchen. The outside shower was fun -- there are little white Christmas lights on it.... More
