Our first trip to Lanai. Went to the Hotel Lanai on a recommendation. It was quaint as a historic hotel would be. We were in a standard room and it was a bit noisy as we were close to the kitchen area. Bathroom shower never really got hot - warm water only. It was very clean and the people there... More

We were here 2 years ago and had a fabulous experience with the owners then--friendly, open and accommodating. On this 3 day trip we had a different experience under the new management--the shuttles changed charging more for each trip, no snorkel gear. Our room #3 was very noisy all night long and our friends in room#4 had gauze curtains and... More

We just spent 2 nights at hotel Lanai. We had a standard room. The positives of the place: staff is friendly, it has charm, nice entry with some chairs for sitting. Negatives: room very basic, smelled musty and there was mould in bathroom. The water in the shower never got hot; we were told to run it, which we did,... More

We rented the private cottage "out back" - very secluded and quiet although the bedroom window opened to the back of the local hospital, quiet as it was during our four-night stay. The cottage was very clean except for the straw mat flooring in the bedroom and sitting room; they were filthy when I had to get down to search... More

The choice on Lanai is limited to the Hotel Lanai in Lanai City or the resort near the Harbour. We had heard that the restaurant at the Hotel Lanai was good so opted for that - my tip - don't go on a Wednesday as the restaurant is closed! This meant we had to bring food back to eat at... More

Great location. Very clean. Wonderful staff. The restaurant was closed while we were here, however, they did offer us a nice continental breakfast. There are some restaurants a few blocks away and a state of the art movie theater. We stayed in room 11 which was very nice and very private. Ask the front desk about borrowing snorkel equipment and... More

A little slice of old Hawaii. Nothing special but our lanai room was clean and comfortable. Short walk to the town square with shops, stores and local eateries. The heritage museum next door provides a good history of the island and gave us a map of the koloiki hiking trail .Apparently back in the day this was a planned community... More

A perfect place to wind down after being on the Big Island and Maui for 2 weeks. We stayed in the cottage. It was a very homey with beautiful Lanai Island prints on the wall. The sitting room had a nice couch and chair plus a flat screen TV. The bedroom has a full size bed. The room came with... More

We are world travelers that frequent hotels that are billed to be similar quality. This Hotel has the worst front desk ever. The hotel was very concerned with our arrival and departure times because the only time someone is at the desk is for a check in or out. They decline to help find transportation while visiting, which is crucial... More

First, there is nothing to do in lanai. Absolutely nothing. Thankfully, we were able to rent an atv, otherwise we would have left. I have never paid this much money to have such poor service. Regardless of what we asked for help with (can you help us make ferry reservations? Can you tell us where to get fishing poles? Can... More
