Stayed here with my parents and boyfriend one night. I am 4th generation Filipino-American whose family immigrated to Hawaii to work on pineapple plantations. My father said the way the cottage was refurbished was eerily close to the way he remembered the actual plantation homes of his grand-uncles and aunts. Unfortunately, we didn't get a room w/ A/C during a... More

We just returned this morning from a two night stay in cottage #75. The bedroom is showcased in one of the management photos. The cottage was very sweet and very clean. The historic feel of our cottage was fun but would not want to stay longer than two nights due to the lack of things to do in Wiamea. For... More

This is the place to stay when you want an authentic, relaxing, peace filled experience on Kauai. It is a very different type of resort than the Hyatt, Mariott, etc. It is amazingly quaint and charming. We had such a great family experience. I truly felt the heart of Kauai. We loved playing in the pool (perfect for my kids... More

We were excited to stay at the plantation cottages based on the pictures they show. This is false advertisement! We booked a two bedroom cottage, what we got was a cottage with a bed in every room, each with its own large web and spider - cottage #31: Arachniphobia! We were moved to cottage B- a little better but not... More

Halfway through our stay, and already ready to leave. We'vs given this place a second, third and fourth chance; we'be truly tried to enjoy our stay here, but we cannot. We arrived to find a cottage that appeared to not have been stayed in for months: spiders (not webs, but spiders) on the walls and beds, broken doors, ant trails... More

We had stopped by here many times, to stroll on the veranda or eat and drink in the brewpub (when it was still there), and we always dreamed of the time we would stay there. It was a nice dream. In reality, the cottages look like they were frozen in time in 1959 - with little upkeep done since then.... More

Stayed here as a couple attending a destination wedding on-property in May 2014. Many of the cottages were our friends & family, so we got a chance to check out more than just our own and we liked them all! Each one is unique, which is part of the resort's charm. The Manager's House was beautiful, classy, and well-appointed. We... More

Kauai is a beautiful Hawaiian Island. One of the sunniest spots is Waimea. The plantation cottages are a great choice. Aaron at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful! I truly appreciate having the space - so much more comfortable than a hotel room. I was traveling with my grandson and we each had a bedroom and bathroom for... More

We lucked out and got a cottage right on the beach (#59). The lanai faced the ocean, 50 yards away. We were soothed by the sounds of the waves all week long. Good accommodations, the cottage had a well stocked kitchen, just bring food. Very peaceful, the roosters were not as bad as we had previously read. Beautiful well maintained... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Private, individual plantation cottages set on a historic 27-acre coconut plantation in a beachside setting close to Kauai's famous Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. Each self-contained cottage has been fully restored with modern appliances, full kitchens, and amenities. The simple, comfortable charm, genuine history and beautiful grounds allow guests to enjoy a unique experience unlike any other in the islands. Waimea Plantation Cottages offers beautiful settings for Wedding Celebrations, Anniversaries, Family Reunions, and Corporate Business meetings. Note: The restaurant will be closed temporarily as we remodel and transition the restaurant to a new restaurant operator and will re-open in mid-to-late fall of 2013. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience. During this transition, we suggest trying some of the other dining options in Waimea Town such as Wrangler's Steak House. But do come and try our new restaurant once it reopens! ... more   less
