I would give 5 Stars to the overall property and landscaping but 1 star to our Cottage #86. This was our first trip to Waimea and we like to stay at independent and unique properties so after researching, we went ahead and booked at Plantation Cottages. We sort of knew that there were issues after having read some reviews but... More

We were surprised to have a full sized house to live in the week we were there. One couple, three bedrooms, large living room with full sized kitchen. Loved the private porch surrounded with crotan plants & comfortable chairs. Parked our car @ the front door on the other side. Roosters are pretty but wake up early. Part of the... More

Having been to Hawaii before, we were looking for a different kind of place to start our vacation. Waimea Plantation Cottages fit our needs nicely. It is away from the throngs of tourists, had private cottages, a beautiful campus, and on the beach. The campus is made up of renovated cottages that have all of the modern necessities but don't... This is the real relaxed Kauai, if you want to walk the black sand beach with out the crowds or sit under the trees and read or explore downtown this is it. It was fun to go and pick limes, bananas and other fruits from the trees to eat just outside your door.

We were here for the wedding of a friend and absolutely loved the location and setting. They made the wedding a special occasion for all involved and I can't fault them for any of that. However it was unbearably hot in most cottages and the bug screens were very badly fitted. In my opinion, spending a few bucks on decent... More

Ok, it really ticks me off for people to give WPC a bad review. If you write reviews on Tripadvisor then certainly you do your homework before you book a vacation, therefore you should know what to expect from WPC! And it ain't a 5 star resort, they are down the road with zero history or character! WPC are just... More

This place could be a very special destination...but it's not. I have visited the hotel two times now - each time met with an indifferent staff who seems like they'd rather not be there. I want to bring a group of 25 or so to Kauai for a retreat and was interested in this property, but the staff is clearly... More

Great, helpful and friendly staff! Remote cottages in a small town which offers very little in the way of restaurants or entertainment. The plantation is beautifully landscaped and is along a lovely black sand beach. Don't get excited-you can't swim there, but there is a pool. The exterior appears to be quite charming when you arrive, but that's where it... More

It depends on what you're looking for. As other reviewers have stated, this is a very different kind of property than the big resort hotels like the Sheraton or Marriott back in Poipu. WPC consists of a collection of wooden, frame construction, 1940s vintage cottages laid out a beautiful beachfront setting, just on the western edge of the village of... More

Quiet, calming, relaxed. Come to this side of the island for more sun and less traffic and little that is touristy and kitschy. If you are looking for the Hawaiian "night life" this is not the spot for you. However, if you are going to Hawaii to truly "get away from it all" then this fills the bill perfectly. Nearby... More
