I loved these little cottages. If you are looking for the luxury of a hotel, don't stay here, these are cute, quaint, old style Hawaiian cottages. NOTE: They are tidy, not clean. It was so peaceful and quiet. Waimea has a few local places to eat, and is an easy 5 minute walk away. I would highly recommend them to... More

This collection of former sugar plantation worker cottages has lovely grounds and is the perfect place to take long sunset walks along the beach. It's quiet and private, though within walking distance to Waimea, a small town that has true Hawaiian character, with great local markets and places to eat. (I personally much prefer this laid back and relatively untouristed... More

Stay in a beachfront bungalow and plan on more than three nights. Spacious, clean, comfortable. The property is amazing, with a large lawn, gigantic banyan trees, long beach for strolling. The kitchen is well stocked, the showers are the largest I have ever seen. Great wifi and television if you get tired of Mother Nature. Sleep with the lullaby of... More

We discovered the Cottages because we were looking for a convenient base for hiking in Waimea Canyon. The cottages themselves are adorable, a quaint throwback to a simpler time (but with cable, DVD and high speed internet). The manicured grounds and adjacent black sand beach were a pleasant place for a morning or evening stroll. Although we didn't have much... More

I stayed a couple days and then came back and stayed a week. It's old Hawaii and it is so very charming. They have done an exceptional job with restoring the 'cane homes' to MUCH MORE than their original splendor! They all have kitchens. The meandering sprawling grounds are accented with horticultural treats with many old banyan trees included. It's... More

This is a very special place. Grounds were enormous and lovely, and our ocean front cottage # 69 was perfect for my husband, our new baby, and grandma. Expect atmosphere, period furnishings, and a basic but workable kitchen in a beautiful setting and you will not be disappointed. The ocean breeze and surf at night led to fantastic sleep, we... More

From what I've seen, these are the most beautiful accommodations on the island. I absolutely loved staying here and wish I'd stayed longer. The cottage we stayed in is beautiful and well appointed, and the grounds are spectacular. The ambiance is relaxed and majestic. The beach is beautiful and the pool lovely. It would have been nice to have someone... More

This may be the best slice of old Hawaii that is also a lovely hotel. The grounds are spacious, full of palms and flowering plants, and the cottages are just adorable. Most are fairly close together in a couple of rows down the middle of the resort, but there are also some outlying cottages, mostly larger, set out on large... More

Cottage 57 was a dream come true. A perfect place to call home; I wish is was. The windows and fans provided great feeling of nature and the location couldn't have been better. Near the pool and beach with large covered patio facing the sunset. The plants provided privacy from near cottages and there was an a/c unit in the... More

Private, individual plantation cottages set on a historic 27-acre coconut plantation in a beachside setting close to Kauai's famous Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. Each self-contained cottage has been fully restored with modern appliances, full kitchens, and amenities. The simple, comfortable charm, genuine history and beautiful grounds allow guests to enjoy a unique experience unlike any other in the islands. Waimea Plantation Cottages offers beautiful settings for Wedding Celebrations, Anniversaries, Family Reunions, and Corporate Business meetings. Note: The restaurant will be closed temporarily as we remodel and transition the restaurant to a new restaurant operator and will re-open in mid-to-late fall of 2013. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience. During this transition, we suggest trying some of the other dining options in Waimea Town such as Wrangler's Steak House. But do come and try our new restaurant once it reopens! ... more   less
