We stayed in Ohe Ohe cabin 2 nights--and were lucky we were in that one because it actually has a stove. That helped us keep things warm the first night because of the one thing that has me taking a star off of the review. The cabins have wood burning stoves, and I had called ahead to let them know... Picture an old cabin in a beautiful woodland forest. Quiet, except for the ever-present roosters. This is a wonderful place to stay on your way to kalalau lookout and Pihae trail. Then you don't have to drive up Wines canyon toad in the morning, and can be at the lookout bright and early, before the clouds come in and spoil... More

Electricity but no television which is... More

Who cares about the little shack of a restaurant with all the beauty that surrounds you here. Grab a sandwich or other nondescript munchie and get outside. This is not the place to labor over descriptions of picnic food. Eat half your sandwich and give the rest to the ever present chickens that are always looking for a handout. Then,... More

A bit basic: everything old or falling apart, but lovely walks to the coast. Na Pali, which is the backdrop for movies like Jurassic Park. A great walk. The lodge comes with most things for basic cooking etc. Unfortunately, all appliances and utensils are of the "no one would ever want to steal this" type. Beds, lights etc, well, depending... More

This could have been a great stay...30 years ago. Clean sheets, hot water, rustic cabin. Sheets did not fit beds, blankets did not keep out the cold, hot water came from a very questionable heater next to the stove in the kitchen. The wood stove was old and did not vent properly. The fire stayed lit only if you left... More

we returned to Kokee Cabins after 12 years of wonderful memories of a previous family trip there. We were excited by our memories of warm wood paneling, clean and welcoming interior. We found instead dirt everywhere, broken furniture, amazingly sparse and groddy utensils, a sink that leaked onto the floor, a water heater that needed constant attention, and NO ONE... More

While staying in Kauai we traveled up to Waimea Canyon and stayed 2 nights at one of the cabins at Kokee Lodge. When we walked in the cabin I was really disappointed in the condition of the cabin. Peeling paint, dirty cupboards, bugs and spider webs in wall corners and the mattresses were old and dirty. We had to wash... More

We stayed in the Olapa cabin, number 12, for just one night, but we wish it were longer! Staying at the cabin gave us a whole extra day to hike in Waimea Canyon. We arrived after the Lodge closed, but they left our key on the porch with directions to the cabin. Our two-bedroom cabin was tucked away in the... More

Spacious cabin but old and not perfectly maintained. Shower was great, but only two stove burners worked and pots etc. were spare. Only real problem was the queen sized bed, which dipped seriously toward the middle -- all was fine when we switched to twin beds. Perfect location, close to great beauty, both the canyon and trails along the western... More
