My Dad and I returned to Kauai to visit friends and enjoy the island we lived on for a number of years. We chose a condominium for the convenience and comfort. We were in a ground floor unit (#323) with a garden view, which included a framed view of the ocean and the sound of the ocean. The birdsong in... More

We stayed in a one bedroom condo. Ours was a ways away from the beach end, closer to the road, but we were on the top floor so could see the ocean. the beach is rough right at the condos and perfect for learning to surf or boogie boarding, of which we did both. There is a surf school that... More

Aloha Sirenssong4, Thank you for posting your review. Kiahuna is a large property. We have a lot to offer and a range of rates to suite everyone. Your idea of choosing the unit closest to the beach is fantastic. Prices for those units are a bit more, but specials are available at various locations on the web (including ours). It's... More

My wife and I just returned from Kauai in staying at Kiahuna Unit #14. We have stayed in this unit previously. It is a beautiful location and all was special as usual. The location is perfect and within 50 yards of the beach with a magnificent ocean view. The unit was remodeled about 4 years ago and the improvements were... More

Mahalo for your return visit! Unit #14 is indeed very nice, as is the location. Castle offers many specials, and ALWAYS works with return guests, so it is not always true that renting direct from an owner secures the best rates. It is true though that direct renting allows for a specific unit being guaranteed. Please do come back again... More

I had a delightful time at this place. Beautiful garden environment, sea view . Shops close by at Poipu Village. We were at 84 in building 16. The kitchen was well equipped. There was a big TV with a DVD player. The cactus garden is something to see. Never seen such huge cactus. So many different species of hibiscus. Though hibiscus... More

Aloha Jan K, thank you for the great review rating! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the beauiful plants, flowers, and cactus on our lush grounds. A bit more information for you: Hawaii's state flower is the Hau. It is in the hibiscus family. The flower from the Hau starts out yellow in the morning and turns red by... More

The grounds, restaurant, beach are all above average. The buildings themselves are obviously old. Many owners have upgraded to make more modern. Ours did not. The TV was so old it was hard to see. No AC in any of the units, which isn't an issue when the wind blows the right way. The 2 ceiling fans usually did the... More

Thank you for your recent visit, and your review. I will PM you as to what unit you stayed in. We are in the process of grading all of our inventory now that the busy season is over, and we will be working with our owners to ensure all of our units are clean and comfortable. I apologize that your... More

Great beach, great surf, good times. We had a garden view and we were about two hundred yards from the beach. The beach hut renter snorkel gear, boggy boards, and had complementary beach chairs and towels. The location to other beaches, hotels and restaurants was great, everything was within walking distance. I'd go back and stay again.

Stayed for 9 days. The beach is wonderful during low-tide and about waist deep. The beach shack rents snorkels, gives free beach towels and chairs. Our 2-bedroom condo had beach umbrellas, a kitchen with all items required for cooking and eating except groceries, good bath rooms, clean and comfortable beds,... The lawns and property are beautifully maintained. Poipu beach park,... More

Aloha! Thank you for the great review! Your hint about Sueoka Store is a good one. I'll add Kukui'ula store for those who like organic local groceries. Both are locally owned by families that still live in Poipu and Koloa. Your room tip is good as well. You are correct, there are price differences, the closer you get to the... More

We have been staying at the Kiahuna for many years and love the beautiful park like grounds. But they really need to modernize the bathrooms and kitchens which are 80's These are individually owned condos but there should be some bottom line for quality of furnishings and amenities. The pool is across the highway and not maintained by Kiahuna just leased... We are a family of four travelling with the grandparents. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and had a great location, bldg 21. It was very lovely, nicely decorated and well equipped. It was a very short walk to to the beach. The grounds are incredible with lots of places for our kids to play on the grass. The pool... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation. The unit we stayed in, #235 in building 36, was beautifully finished, and included lots of incidentals & practical items that made it a very convenient place to stay, such as tupperware for leftovers & beach chairs & boogie boards. The only complaint about the property is that the pool is... More
