5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed there for a week in June and loved it. Different than the big hotels (Hyatt, Marriott) but still as nice. Quieter, smaller, less kids (not quite adults only) and close to the beach. Pool and hot tub are good, great drinks at poolside cabana. All employees are exceptionally nice. Free coffee in the morning is nice (figure out a... More

This is a lovely smaller property that offers great amenities and luxury service to discerning travelers. There is also a fine restaurant where the Chef is preparing excellent creative cuisine. Staff throughout the resort and at the restaurant are thoughtful and gracious. Koa Kea offers a wonderful experience that is the best of Hawaii and the island of Kauai.

Can I start by saying Kauai is a wonderful island and the beach near the hotel is fantastic. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are good although not sure they are worth the price. Service is very friendly. The Red Salt restaurant at the hotel gets a bit busy and sometimes the service really suffers. We also waited for... More

I had very high hopes for Koa Kea but am mixed over my overall experience. We picked it over the Grand Hyatt and the Sheraton thinking it would be quieter and more romantic for our 15th wedding anniversary than a large mega-resort. We stayed in an ocean view room for four nights. The pros would include a very nice restaurant... More

We loved our stay in Kauai! Pros: -Great location! Close to nice beaches on either side of the hotel. Within walking distance to restaurants for lunch and dinner. - We had Room 124 which was perfect. I would highly recommend the rooms on the first floor that lead straight out to the pool and have a partial ocean view. -Extremely... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in June and absolutely loved every second of it. If you are looking for a quiet, serene, couples getaway, look no further. This hotel is located in a great area in Poipu steps away from Poipu Beach Park. It is next door to a Marriott timeshare which is the... More

Koa Kea was perfect for us! Small but had everything we needed. We enjoyed it very much as a couple but probably wouldn't be as great for a family with young kids. The pool and lounge area were small but very quiet and peaceful. The rooms were nice with comfy beds and updated bathrooms. The wonderful restaurant on site, friendly... More

I was very impressed with this resort. I travel regularly and was pleased to find a "hole in the wall" gem like Koa Kea. Location was perfect, Service was excellent and the staff was wonderful. It felt like you were part of the Koa Kea family and not just a guest. I would definitely recommend this resort to others as... More

Very over priced, not kid friendly, noisey hallway doors slamming. Really not a resort as they claim. Agree with reviewer rseg99. We actually overheard what we assumed was the GM speaking to one of his staff with absolute disrepsect, For being on the beach in poipu, there is no feeling of aloha spirit here. If you want to experience Aloha,... More

We spent 5 nights of our 4 location honeymoon here and we loved it. It's understated class. The rooms and beds were lovely. We were in room 206 which looks straight onto the pool and ocean. If you want bigger resorts with lots to do and lots of people and parties, this probably isn't for you. We liked how quiet... More
