The Koa Kea resort in Poipu, Kauai, is wonderful. My husband, my two grown sons and their partners all spent 10 days there over the Christmas/New Year's holiday at the end of 2014. It's a small luxury hotel, and although we started out feeling suprised about its small size, we quickly realized that is one of its attractions. It's particularly... More

We had a very pleasant experience at the hotel but thought that the $600/night was excessive. Yje location is excellent. Rooms are quite small for that price and extra resort fees on top are "nickel and diming" in my opinion. Further, if one wanted a chair on the beach there is an extra charge. Not quite the 5 star experience... More

We wanted to have a real "hawaii experience" and reviews recommend the Koa Kea. It is a really nice hotel indeed, we stayed at the ground level and loved it. It helps to the easy living Kauai vibe, going in and out of your room thorough the window. The beach is really nice, but nicer if you either walk either... More

First this is not for those who need action Awesome choice to relax in upscale nature with 5 star lux. The best on island for romance . You must get ocean front. Nice clean ocean beach on the sunny south side of island. Best pick to chill 5 star dinning. Not a highrise and not for families but if you... More

This hotel was a wonderful experience! From arrival to departure the service was exceptional!! We had an ocean front room (#250) and suggest that you speand a little extra for this type of accommodation so that you can enjoy the amazing sunsets. The staff is amazing and we have to mention Jamie who was everywhere, from breakfast to manning the... More

The Koa Kea was without a doubt the perfect hotel for our honeymoon! We stayed 8 nights and enjoyed every second! The property is amazing and every employee we encountered was exceedingly friendly and full of aloha spirit. We stayed in a third floor deluxe oceanfront room (#380) which we absolutely loved, the view was spectacular and truly oceanfront. We... More

A relief to find a human sized hotel in a world of over scaled resorts. Tucked away but well worth looking for. Quiet and situated on a good protected stretch of beach. Exceptional staff . Helpful and friendly.

My husband and I stayed here. Had a gorgeous ocean rooms you it's a smaller more intimate boutique hotel with high touch service. Everyone was gracious and kind especially to a maid who helped me when I became ill one night. it's a gem especially if you don't want to listen to screaming kids overflowing swimming pools and chaos, highly... In truth, I would rate this hotel overall a 4.5 out of 5 if that was an option. The most positive thing about it is the friendly, fast and genuine service. The management and staff obviously emphasize customer satisfaction. Without fail everyone is smiling, willing to help, give recommendations, assist you in any way to make your stay a positive... Koa Kea has set the bar extremely high! They have been the most accomaditing Resort that we have ever stayed at. It's a small yet beautiful resort, which is very nice because it is so intimate. They have catered to us in every way possible from being so prompt and thorough with all of our needs big and small. The... More
