Had a great stay at the Koa Kea last week. It's a relatively small hotel, and the service feels personal and friendly - the staff were great and very helpful whether helping us with scheduling activities like helicopter rides and spa treatments, or advising us on where to hike. The pool and lawn area are nice - the lawn gets... More

The staff is exceptional. From the valets to the pool bar everyone is amazing. The rooms are well maintained and housekeeping does an excellent job. The hotel restaurant Red Salt is very good and make sure you have Sushi when Justin is working. Best Sashimi we ever had. Wade makes a great cocktail at the hotel bar and Erin became... More

The Koa Kea was a quiet, beautiful experience. We arrived on a Monday evening and had pre-booked Roberts to transport us from the Lihu'e airport to the Koa Kea. Front desk staff were extremely welcoming and gave us a brief tour while escorting us to our well-appointed room (king, ocean view). Our package included breakfast, which we enjoyed on our... More

We spent 6 nights at the Koa Kea after opting for a smaller resort instead of the St. Regis and it was fabulous. The rooms are very large, very clean, and nicely updated. The showers are huge! The staff is fabulous. They greet you by name when you pull in and when you register upon arrival they walk to you... More

Our family of four, two adults and two teenagers, spent six night here. We choose this property from the reviews and frankly we should have read more carefully. I see some of the more recent reviews are more accurate ("overpriced..."). The hotel was destroyed many years ago and stood empty for something like 15 years. In 2009 they rebuilt it... More

What a fabulous place: luxurious, friendly, immaculate, stunning views. We arrived in the dark from the airport and knew we were close to the ocean because we could hear it. Champagne greeted us in our room and despite the jet lag it seemed rude not to sit on our lanai and listen to the waves on the shore below whilst... More

My wife and I came to the Koa Kea for my fiftieth birthday, it was a wonderful experience. We truly loved the hotel! We stayed in a deluxe ocean view room and the view was wonderful. Red Salt is great place to eat as well. The service at the hotel is First Class, the whole staff was great! We will... More

We spent 6 nights at the Koa Kea opting for a smaller boutique hotel rather than the St Regis or other larger resort. This was after 3 nights at the Maui Four Seasons. The price point is the same (~$750/night) and that's where the similarity ends. Visually it is most attractive - clean, nice pool, ocean access, etc). Generally speaking,... More

Overall, I felt K'oa Kea was nice but not worth the price we paid. Having just stayed at Maui in a nice villa in Kapalua, the upcharge of paying almost twice as much was not worth it to me looking back. For what it is, K'oa Kea is a nice place. On the smaller side, good service, clean rooms. However... More

My husband and I stayed at the Koa Kea for 5 nights in July for our vacation in Kauai. Although the hotel provided a more intimate feel than a lot of the other busy hotels on the island, the service is just not there. Compared to a similarly priced St. Regis on the north side of the island in Princeville,... More
