If you're planning a trip prior to November 2009, the first and only thing you need to know is that this hotel should absolutely be avoided at all costs. As other reviewers have noted, the property is currently undergoing massive renovations and the unpleasantness and distraction caused by the noise, particularly on the hotel side of the property, cannot be... more

My husband and I arrived at the Marriott on a Friday evening with my in-laws and 15-month old. The Marriott is in a good location on the east side of the island, between Poipu and Princeville. We enjoyed the pool and beach on Saturday and Sunday, but were in for a surprise on Monday morning promptly at 9 am. Two... more

Traded from our Beach Club in Ko Olina for time in Kauai. Have also stayed at Poipu at the Beach Club, but this is the best of all three. Loved the short drive from the airport and ammenities closeby in Lihue. Lucked out and got beachfront room with a fabulous view of Nawiliwili Harbor. It was the perfect vacation. The... more

I have to agree with the reviewer who wrote of being disappointed because of the relentless construction noise at this hotel's pool and beach area. The jackhammers around the beautiful pool and beach area that I had so loved on previous trips to this hotel certainly changed the dynamics of this outdoor space and NOT in a good way! Every... more

We stayed in the Oceanfront Tower timeshare units which have just undergone a major renovation. The interiors are super, with the nice furnishings and furniture the background for one of the best views in Hawaii. The harbor laid out in front of you with all of the beach activity, constant waves, sailboats and canoes, and a continuous cast of surfers... more

This hotel's staff is lack luster to say the least. Doing the bare minimum would be a good discription. The rooms and hallways are musty, bathroom tile is moldy, and mattresses are horrible. We were tempted to sleep on the floor if the carpet wasn't so stained. Also lovely roosters roaming the property decide you should wake up at 6am... more

My husband and I came here to celebrate my 50th birthday, and our 25th wedding anniversary. We saw this property many years ago, and always dreamed of staying here. We booked our package at least 2 months in advance, and were not told of the remodeling planned to start June 1, until June 1. We were locked in and could... more

As an elite member with Marriott for almost 10 years I was quite surprised to be given a room that was billed as a beach/ocean view room that was far from it. The room had a view of some palm and other trees (which virtually 100% blocked the view of anything else) and the top of the roof for another... more

Our stay at the Marriott was sweetened due to the fact that during our first night my boyfirend kept hearing a plumbing noise that was keeping him up. So at 1:30 am he marched down to the front desk and stated his case. They didn't hesitate to correct the situation (even though he is a platinum member). They gave us... more

I decided to give the hotel another try after a horrible experience, only because I obtained a great rate. I was impressed. I was upgraded to a higher floor and had a partial ocean view. The room was roomy and nicely decorated. Bathroom was big and bed was very comfortable. We ate breakfast in the hotel. Service was good and... more
