Perhaps we had misaligned expectations, and people do truly love this Inn, but this was not the right place for me. First and foremost, these rooms DO NOT have A/C. Although the website clearly states a ceiling fan is in the room (never claims to have A/C), our room never dipped below 80F for our entire two night stay --... More

This is a great place away from the business of the resort areas. We had a great view of both the mountains and the ocean. Lorna was great to work with and even upgraded our room due to a problem with the room we had originally reserved. There is a hot tub and BBQ. And snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach... More

Thank you for your review. I was happy to accommodate you with the upgrade. Plumbing repairs needed to be attended to and all worked out well. The Ulu is a beautiful unit. I was pleased to know that you enjoyed it and your trip was a success. Mahalo, Lorna More

My husband and I stayed in the cottage on the property, so our experience was a little different than that of people who stayed in the main building of the inn. With that in mind, the cottage was absolutely perfect. It's a stand alone building with its own entrance down a flight of stairs off of the parking lot. The... More

Aloha, Thank you for your great review on The Cottage. I have no idea about the strange sound on your porch--interesting. I plan to stay down there a couple of nights to see what I hear. All braches are off the roof too. I am wondering if it was not one of the neighborhood cats or we do have feral... More

We stayed in the Ulu suite for 9 nights in April. We felt very well provided for. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. It was a beautiful suite with a great view. Sunrises were great and we had a double rainbow one day. Lorna has a good quantity of handy supplies, so we always had a... More

We really loved this place! We spent 5 nights there and it was just perfect! Home away from home! It´s a quiet location (if you don't mind birds and insects singing early)! Lots of things were included (snorkelling gear, beach chairs, cooler, bodyboards), which was really appreciated. The kitchen in the room is very useful too, especially if you are... More

My hubby and I stayed in the Ulu suite the end of April and beginning of May 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and never wanted to leave. Lorna made us feel very much at home and provided us everything we needed to have a truly awesome stay. The location was convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. We... More

Aloha Thank you for the wonderful review. I agree the view from the Ulu is amazing--I have never tired of it in over 40 years! As many guests do enjoy sleeping in, I agree the sunrise is beautiful and when the full moon comes out over the mountain it is "heaven on earth". I look forward to a return visit... More

The Kauai Banyan Inn is ideally located to explore the south shore of Kauai. Lorna is a lovely host and runs this place with great passion. The room was clean and quiet and the view from the property is wonderful. I highly recommend this place. Again a big mahalo to Lorna for this wonderful stay.

We stayed in the Milo suite in April. Lorna, as always is a wonderful host full of great ideas. This time, we contacted her and asked her if she could recommended a restaurant that was open late since our flight was coming in at 8. She ended up picking up a few things for us so that we could make... More

If you are looking for a private retreat with easy access to Poipu and Waimea on the Island's more sunny side with mind blowing territorial views this is your choice. Beach access is less than 10 minutes by car and the Inn has all the accessories such as towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and such. The rooms are nicely stocked... More

We spent three nights of our vacation here in the Milo room. The host, Lorna, was welcoming and friendly. She was informative and helpful. The room was delightful and the bed most comfortable. Look no further if you want a clean, relatively quiet (remember Kauai has lots of roosters), and beautiful views. You will not be disappointed!
