How great to stay at a private hideaway in a lush, tropical forest! Our cottage was immaculate and well-equipped (kitchen, washer and dryer--even beach chairs a cooler!). Although not on the beach, it's 15 minutes away and the location is central on a small island. Bill and Cathy were so friendly and helpful; answering our many questions and providing thoughtful... This property is in a nice setting, and was clean. Despite their advertisement as a Bed and Breakfast, they are not a conventional B&B, in fact they only provide in room muffins/coffee/tea to customers who book through an online service. For most customers, the breakfast is you provide and prepare your own in the in room kitchen. Don't expect a... More

Am sitting in the Cottage at Hale Kua with screened doors open to the late afternoon breezes. A storm is moving in from the south and the views are even more dramatic. I am writing this as a response to the recent review that makes one feel as though there is a problem here at Hale Kua. I have been... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hale Kua for a week this summer and loved it! I have been to Kauai many times before and stayed in the tourist areas on the beach, but I enjoyed staying here so much more. It's only a 10 minute drive to Poi Pu beach and when you come back it is paradise. We... More

This B&B was recommended by a friend on island for some friends of our. They loved it! The location is hidden and feels like a perfect Kauai place to stay. The rates are great, it's just a short drive to town and Lihue and very easy for accessing Poipu, the west side and Waimea Canyon. Princeville is only an hour... More

We always book with Hale Kua. The owners, Bill and Cathy, provide everything one could need to fend for one-selves - especially if you don't want to do the restaurant experience every day. Each accommodation offers a little different ambience. We have stayed in Gardenia (a lovely loft), the Cottage (wonderful views), and next year we are booked for Coral... More

Secluded, quiet, beautiful spot, but also accessible to everywhere on the island. If you like to be part of the local environment of Kauai and truly experience the beauty and nature of the island, then this is an ideal spot. Cathy and Bill are wonderful, thoughtful and gracious hosts, that leave you to enjoy all that they have. You can... More

This was the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. It had everything we needed. The house was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed waking up and watching the birds for hours in the morning. I would not recommend this place for the resort traveler but for those that want to see what Kaua'i is really like, this is the... More

My husband and I stayed in the cottage to celebrate our 33 years of marriage. From the beginning of planning our stay, Cathy and Bill, the owners, were very nice. They answered our e-mails promptly and when we arrived, it felt like we already knew them. The cottage was very neat and clean with everything we needed in the kitchen.... More

I found Hale Kua off Priceline, and was not expecting it to be a B&B. That said, I am really glad we found it. Cathy and Bill are friendly and accommodating, and the entire grounds feel just like a home away from home with the fruit trees and quaint surroundings. Though not by the beach, it is nestled in a...
