This is a B&B. There is a house they rent next door. At this time Elizabeth is renting only one room. I think her family is going to take over the business soon. It is about 6 miles from a gas station and any place that sells food. So if you want to get away this is the place. If... More

My mother and I stayed at Hale Luana for two nights and wished we could be there longer! The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with a great pool, a distant view of the ocean, immaculately maintained flowers, and a fantastic porch for relaxing in the evening. It's even adjacent to a field used in the filming of Jurassic Park, which I... More

we prepayed our deposit back in december of 2011, we arrive here in a complete downpour today. The owner watches me unload my luggage out of my car and once we are settled in our room decides to tell us she cancelled our reservation because of nonpayment. My wife has a different last name than me and the credit card... More

Yes, it was a miserable day and I really felt sorry for this couple. Double bookings are an innkeepers worst nightmare and I apologized many times over. What occurred was that the reservation system and the Paypal system are not connected in any way. The reservation was booked in his name and the deposit was booked in her name and... More

Elizabeth is a charming host - not to mention the members of the family who make the effort to make your stay a worthwhile one. This is a charming, low-key sort of place. You're away from the crowds and tourists. You'll be treated to as nice a breakfast as you'll get anywhere. You'll walk into a nice clean room that's... More

Hale Luana is a beautiful, restful bed and breakfast near the north shore of Kauai. There is a view of the ocean in the distance, a swimming pool, and lots of beautiful flowers. The bedroom is lovely, overlooking a veranda, with a delicious breakfast served in the garden or on the veranda. I enjoyed my stay at Hale Luana very... More

My family and I (8 adults) stayed in the main house at Hale Luana Kauai for my parent's 20th wedding anniversary. To begin with, we were of course excited about our vacation. When we arrived at the house we were blown away! It was so much better than the pictures we had seen online (and even those looked pretty nice).... More

Not if you are in the Allemande room. We just returned from our visit to Kauai where we stayed at the Hale Luana. All of the reviews are correct. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and well appointed. The grounds were gorgeous and the breakfasts were wonderful. However, we stayed in the Allemande room which has a common wall with... I thought I would respond to your nice complaint about the noise from our TV in the living room. My husband is somewhat hard of hearing and needs to have a boost in order to hear so we have earphones but he sometimes forgets to turn down the TV when using the headphones. So I apologize for that but we... More

Innkeeper Elizabeth Ferris put a lot of thought into our room, from the inviting tropical decor to little touches, such as beach towels and mats and body wash in the shower. Our room had all sorts of amenities, including a refrigerator and a coffee maker with a selection of teas, as well as coffee, and ample closet and storage space.... More

We stayed at the Hale Luana B&B for two nights and would have loved to stay longer. The location is a few minutes up on a hillside, with beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding hills. The property is filled with different fruit trees and is well cared for. You can see the love that went into decorating the rooms.... More

We loved this B&B. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Our breakfasts were in the gourmet category. The setting is peaceful and relaxing and has beautiful landscaping. Elizabeth was a very gracious hostess and provided useful recommendations of things to see and do in the area. We plan on staying here on our next trip to Kauai.
