My husband and I stayed here August 22nd thru August 28th. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and the grounds were beautiful. Then we made our way to our room which was k203 all the windows were open when we arrived which made the room very hot. The AC did not work well in the Bedroom. The room... More

This is our second time here. Last summer upon our arrival they tried to put us in the J building. ..it was garbage and we refused, but the neck suite they offered us was lovely. Back this year in the G building...ocean view and 100 yards from the beach. Fabulous! Just be careful what you are booking. ..as it can... More

We rented a private condo in this resort during the hottest time of the summer. Check that any place you want has AC! Ours had none, the trade winds stopped blowing and we were miserable. Moderate noise level if someone is above you. Difficult to get out on the highway but drivers are mostly courteous. Pool area is small and... More

Other than hearing the footsteps on the floor above, everything else couldn't be better. The amenities were abundant, the grounds lush and beautiful. The Koi pnds with all those adorable frogs, very entertaining, especially for the kids. Tennis, shuffleboard, croguette , volleyball, swimming pool, hot tub and so much more. On the beach with great views and wonderful chickens, pigeons and... More

We only had 4 days to spend here. Wish we would have had a week. Love this resort. The grounds are beautiful, the suites are awesome. All the dishes you need, great beds, very roomy. Furniture not the most comfortable. Huge bathroom. I would never stay on the 1st or 2nd floor again. Top floor would be a must. We... More

Took a girlfriends trip in July 2015 - we stayed in a timeshare unit, G307. View was quite nice, rooms were adequate - large, nicely furnished. It was clean and had standard comforts. A few disappointments were that there was no on-site food/beverage - it's close by (walk/drive) but it's nice to have on-site occasionally for those long exploring days.... More

We stayed at the Pono Kai after a two week stay in Maui. We liked the resort and its location very much. It was a different experience staying on the East side of one of the islands and getting sunrise but not our treasured sunsets. Kauai is a pretty island but not very big, most outings are 15 - 20... Centrally located between south and north shores, I recommend Kapaa. Restaurants, bike trails along the beach, shopping and good local flavor of this part of Kapaa is great. The resort has excursions that you can book at hotel, and check out beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards to go on your own..Nice views of ocean from many units, and great... More

we spent 2 weeks in Kauai. Being at the Pono Kai made our trip easy to navigate. The resort is a good in-between location to the sites on the North Shore ( Hanalei Bay), The South Shore ( Poipu) and anything else you may want to visit. Being located on the main highway thru the island may seem like a... More

Great resort. Great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had an ocean view even though with RCI we were not sure we would get a view. Would recommend going to the information meeting to get deals and additional information. Some of the rooms seem to be dated but some are up to date. The AC worked... More
