Location and amenities! 15m from airport, walkable to beaches, food, grocery, 5m to Kapa'a, short drive up the east shore. Equipped kitchen, a/c if you need it. Great breezes through, comfy furniture and bed. Very accommodating hosts - great choice!

This was our first trip to Kauai, and I didn't want to stay in a resort hotel or condo. I also wanted a central location as I knew we would be touring the island. I came across this cottage, and although it looked small for 4 adults, decided to give it a go. What a great decision on my part... More

My husband and I stayed here for the first half of our honeymoon. The cottage was lovely! It was quaint but still spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable to lounge around in. I loved how all the decorations seemed to go well together, from the wall decorations to the furniture to the dishes and to the nice bamboo window frames.... More

My wife and I stayed here in 2008, we are returning for a trip next month and are trying to decide between returning to Kauai and making a trip to Maui. This will be our third trip to Hawaii we usually start in Honolulu and then take a get away vacation for a couple days as we are usually staying... More

My wife spent the second half of our honeymoon at the 17 Palms and were completely taken by its beauty, the nearby shopping center where we picked up some great sandals, souvenirs and found some great food, as well as the downtown Kapa'a area, which had some fantastic coffee shops, bakeries, art galleries and shopping. We would love to come... More

I call this place the Tree House, an adorable little guest house, where a big tree stands guard out side. Tony and I stayed 4 nights. We found the place to be spacious, spotless, and well furnished with a full kitchen, great bed linens, beach chairs, ac in the bedroom, towels, the works. The area of Kaapa we loved, you... More

I've been to Kauai four times before, but the spaciousness, charm, comfort and convenience of 17 Palms made this the best visit there yet. We could get anywhere on the island with ease, and the number of cool spots to explore within a walk or a short drive was endless. We barbecued nearly every night to take advantage of the... More

I was wanting a nice place to stay for a combination anniversary and birthday trip for my wife. I did not want the stereotypical "hotel" but something a little more private and simple. 17 Palms Kauai ticked all the boxes. The location on the East side made us equidistant from both ends of the highway. The construction of the cottage... More

Cool, comfortable, well-equipped cottage. Hip decor, quality furnishings (awesome bed), lots of thoughtful extras. Location was super convenient if you want to explore the whole island as we did. We took a heli flight from Lihue airport; hiked trails from the Kalalau Look out and along the Napali Coast; swam near Kekaha, Hanalei Bay, and Kapaa; kayaked along the northeast... More

It was out first time renting a house through VRBO and my first time in Kauai. I could not have asked for a better experience. This sweet cottage is in a great central location to the north and south of the island. The cottage is lovely- we were greeted with a bowl of fruit and fabulous guide books that really... More
