Stayed here for 5 nights with my wife in August. We stayed in a single room which was tastefully decorated and very cozy and homey. The kitchen and spacious downstairs area kept us fueled up and ready to go. Location is a great jump-off to any part of the island, and the owners were very communicative and gracious. We were... A quiet country home, reasonably priced, a spacious downstairs commons area, everything you need to cook meals and nice owners. Kapaa makes a great base for hiking and snorkeling, especially when the weather and surf are changeable and you need to move from northern beaches to those on the east or south or vice versa. We spent nine nights here... More

Our kids (age 6 and 3) felt instantly at home and we felt instantly relaxed. The rooms and beds are comfortable, but the best thing about Makaleha's is the location and common areas. We enjoyed waterfall and rainbows everyday from the patio and games or movies every night in the common room with extra comfy couches, many board games and... More

We spent 8 night in this lovely villa. The position is good, few miles away from the coast and from Kapaa Town. The way for the North Shore (island's best beaches and landscapes in our opinion) is simple and fast. The room was comfortable and pleasurable, the common area was big, full of every comfort (TV, HD with plenty movies... More

Stayed her one week solo. Really enjoyed it. Was very peaceful and relaxing and great to have my own space. The room I stayed in was lovely and clean. Didnt see the hosts a lot but didnt mind. It is a little way out of town but not an issue if you have a car. The facilities are great and... More

We stayed for only two nights but we would have liked to stay longer. Nice and clean room and friendly hosts. From here we did day trips to the north coast (Ke'e Beach), only takes about 45 minutes. We will come back if we should travel to Kauai again!

Stayed in this beautiful BnB Dec 2013 with family. A place that has been nurtured with plenty of love & care deserves a good wrap. We felt quite at home here, we did not want for anything. Rooms were ample, beds comfortable (slept very well every night, no loud roosters) and TV room downstairs provided a great hub for morning... More

Really relaxed stay in a beautiful place! Felt like we had the place to ourselves most of the time since the other room was not occupied most of our stay. Good location since you are smack in the middle of North and South island, so rent a car and explore with this little gem to come back to and relax... More

Makaleha Bed and Coffee is beautifully situated on Kauai, with a garden seemingly part of the nearby mountains. The bed rooms and the large, well equipped common quarters are nicely decorated in oriental style; a great feel of luxury compared to sterile hotel decorations. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. A unique place to stay!

I would definitely recommend this place for the price we paid. The property was lovely and there was a great view from the patio and lanai. The sounds of nature were ever present. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We had access to all the beach amenities we needed… boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, coolers, extra beach towels, even a... More
