This AWESOME B&B is hidden away on a nice quiet cul-de-sac in Kalaheo. We stayed in "Laka's Garden" Suite. A very spacious accommodation and oh so clean! We loved it! There are tons of parking spaces so no worries there. Just watch out for falling seeds from the large tree closest to the house. The so-called seeds that fall from... More

We stayed here last week and stayed both in Laka's Garden and the Kahili Suite, and loved the location, the decor and the peacefulness of this B&B. The decor feels very Hawaiian and was very clean and tidy. There were lots of books available about history, wildlife, and attractions. Sheila is the perfect hostess, always ready to answer questions, yet... More

I and my friend stayed two nights in Hina suite. The breakfast was impressive. I thank Sheila for her time and efforts to prepare fruit plate, bagels, toast, condiments, milk, juice,3 types of corn flakes, tea, coffee etc. Also, the terrace with ocean view was just perfect to start a day or wrapping up the well enjoyed day. I enjoyed... More

I am so happy that all the special touches that I work so hard to provide are appreciated by such wonderful guests as yourselves. I try to make sure that all my guests get the best I have to offer -- including meticulous cleanliness of the rooms, the freshest local fruit, fun toys to take to the beach, little extras... More

We stayed at Sheila's BnB for our honeymoon and enjoyed every moment there. I suppose it helped that we had the place to ourselves! The breakfast was sufficient and the fruit platter in particular was very delicious. The common room has some very interesting books on Kauai and there are a host of brochures to plan activities if you haven't... More

I am very pleased that you took advantage of our extensive Hawaiiana Library and the convenience of our location. It really makes it nice to be only 6 minutes away from Port Allen when you are catching an early boat tour, or just 20 minutes from Waimea Canyon Drive. Being able to see Poipu from the deck also gives guests... More

This is a good base station for exploring the western side of Kauai as it is only 15 minutes from the western part of Poipu and 4-5 minutes from Highway 50, which is the main road around the island. From here you can go west without going through the increasing traffic around Lihue, and yet you are still fairly close... More

Thank you for your helpful comments. As we are only 20 minutes from Lihue Airport, 6 minutes to Port Allen to catch catamaran boat tours of the Na Pali coast, 7 minutes from Hanapepe Art Night, and 20 minutes to the road that leads to Waimea Canyon. You can also see Poipu from the deck but must travel around the... More

March 2014 We spent 11 lovely days at The Hale O Nanakai, 9 in the main level "Hawaiian Beach Apt." (my description) and 2 upstairs in a beautiful, more upscale apt. Our hostess, Sheila, provided all the beach gear we needed. Her recommendations on places to see and great restaurants were spot on. Her B&B was all and more than... More

My wife and I stayed here in Feb. 2014 (rainy season), and we were happy we stayed on the South side in Kalaheo, since the North was definitely more crowded and touristy and more likely to be rainy in the Winter. Kalaheo has several nice restaurants, and is basically equidistant from the depths of Waimea Canyon and the reach of... More

We enjoyed our stay. Our master suite was really just a room and bath, but lovely and ample. We spent much of our time on the deck with its beautiful view. The breakfast set up was marvelous. The fruits were plentiful and delicious and we appreciated the flexibility of eating whenever we chose. The owner is very nice and helpful,... More

We took a two day hiatus from our resort up in Pinceville to stay at the Hale O Nanakai B&B. Located on the south side of the island in a neighborhood with sweeping views of the coastline, it doesn't get any better or closer to home than this! If you're looking to tour the National Tropical Botanic Gardens, the Waimea... More

This was such an amazingly fantastic review, that I placed it -- in its entirety -- on the "see Kauai" section of my primary website! I can't thank these lovely guests enough for their appreciation and acknowledgement of all of the things I have worked so hard to put in place for my guest's comfort and enjoyment. They did not...
