an older type of living, back when Hawaii was Hawaii....not the over built condos of many destinations in Hawaii. If you want the 'feel' of how it might have been 30-40 years ago....stay here. Some units have a small kitchenettes (only 5 units total, so the place is intimate). Some units have AC, some do not (inquire). Back before when... More

We wanted to be a 5-minute walk to Hanalei Bay and not pay the higher cost of a vacation rental. This is the only place in Hanalei where you can do just that for around $159 nightly (all inclusive plus tax). The full kitchen was useful and well equipped. Hanalei Inn has a feeling of old Hawaii with its laid... More

We were lucky to spend a weekend here recently, reputedly the cheapest in expensive Hanalei. We were so glad to avoid the condo frenzy at Princeville! It feels like home away from home as our unit had full kitchen, comfortable bed, TV, nice bathroom and a lovely deck. Our host Bill was very generous with offering extras to make our trip... More

Great location, cute (v small) room but paper-thin walls which meant we could hear absolutely everything our neighbours had to say! On that basis, I wouldn't recommend staying here. We had the end room so I assume the middle rooms are even noisier. We did, however, appreciate the lovely lanai.

Who doesn't love Hanalei? The location is lush and remote, the mountains are beautiful and their are a number of places to enjoy, shop and eat. We loved the Hanalei Inn and found it to be a lovely, little inn. The five rooms are quaint and just 1/2 mile from downtown Hanalei and the amenities while dated are extremely clean.... More

The unit had everything we needed for a home type stay and loved the deck where we ate breakfast every morning. Bill was helpful and answered our questions, however, we felt there were a lot of little rules, like hanging our wet towels to dry on the deck railing; yet it was ok for the cats & chickens to eat... No fuss accommodation. Bill the cats and chickens are a great family with a nice aloha. We had room 2, bed was very soft, everything was clean and tidy though and only a short walk to the beach and shops we would go back.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at this place two years in a row. Compared to the over-commercialized, super expensive resorts, this is a welcome respite. We were SO close the beach (2 blocks) and ate breakfast on our patio every morning. We love the cats and chickens that roam the property. Yes, it's really "rustic" (bugs, lizards, humid) --... More

Firstly, Bill the manager is fantastic. We called a number of times at the last minute to see if they had availability and he accommodated us each and every time. He also gave us some excellent food recommendations and let us keep our rucksacks on site after checkout. The accommodation was everything I had hoped for, it's certainly not a... More

I miss already the cats and the Nice talks. I was 17 days there and it felt like home. Hopefully I can... More
