We enjoyed a week at The Shores. It is an older property but, very clean and well maintained. The Shores is quiet and peaceful and a great place to relax. My two teenage grandsons were not into the lack of "action" but survived with trips to Volcanoes N.P. and Akaka Falls State Park.

Aloha dfosgett, Thank you for your business and kind review. Hope you will recommend us and return some day. The Big Island is a different kind of place in many ways - there are places to explore here not like anything else on the Earth. And we have all of the regular stuff too. I could never have imagined as... More

Overall the place was ok, just beware of amenities charges. We were told at check in that Wi-Fi was $10 but neglected to mention DAILY! Luckily I noticed the charge quickly and was able to have it disconnected and only be charged 1 day. Also, amenities, such as coffee and towels, were charged $10 per service over their standard 1... Aloha Momma Colten, Thank you for your business and review. After reading it I was perplexed by your comment about staying somehwere else. Really appreciate some of the details that may have led to that conclusion but need to clear up a few things. 1). Amenity Fee is $10 per day but for that you get: free movies and games... More

We rented a two bedroom, two bath condo for two adults and 3 children. Clean, with a full kitchen equipped with dishes, glasses, cups, pots, pans, utensils and more. Washer/Dryer included as well. It's very nice. Beautiful view. It's a resort. Everything is inside the resort. Nothing going on outside for miles. Check-in clerks were very courteous and helpful. Pool... More

Aloha Fran from Flushing, Thank you for your business and kind review. I use another description for where we are - like in the middle of a barbeque grill! We are surrounded by lava from old flows - it is so beautiful sometimes when the light hits it at dawn and dusk. Yes - that is what all of the... More

We rented a 2bd, 2 ba condo with a full kitchen and laundry machines in the unit for our family of 6. The kitchen was nicely updated but the bathrooms need to be, specifically the toilets need to be changed out. It's not the Ritz but honestly we didn't spend a whole lot of time there. The staff was nice... More

Aloha Sarah G., What a nice review and great attitude. We appreciate your business and kind words. Some of the units here are more updated than others but you hit it right on the head - you should not be spending much time in the unit as this Island is a haven for explorers. We rent a one-bedroom apartment with kitchen facility, which is convenient for family. The neighborhood is very well-maintained. The location of the property is nice: it is a walking distance to Hilton and Marriott at Waikoloa, which are worth a visit. However, it is not right at the beach. We would choose Aston again for our next visit to Big... More

Aloha Jingmei Q., Thank you for your business and kind review. You assessed the property very well. We are located close to shops and activities and the beach is a short walk. Had a family reunion here. Had 4 two bedroom units. Jenny the manager were so awesome in making our stay enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay - it helped we were upgraded for free to a lovely "villa" near the pool. Delightfully furnished and extremely comfortable for our purposes. Took a little bit of finding initially but no real problem.

We stayed almost 2 weeks at this particular condo, in unit 2. Although VERY outdated, o.l.d. cabinetry that my kids said 'smelled' and gold fixtures, carpentry that wasn't fitted well and kind of peeling up in many spots, AND many mismatched and ancient appliances (rice cooker/crockpot) and underwhelming kitchen accessories, the place was a nice home to come to every...
