We've stayed at this hotel 3 times now. Each time stayed with Marriott points redemption (thus, for us it was a great value). The hotel is great, with spacious rooms, good views (we always book the cheapest - mountain view - room and always ask to be upgraded to ocean view. Worked 2 out of 3 times. They are typically... We stayed a week in February. We had a west facing room that suited us as we got the sunset but not the sun during the day. Other rooms face north west and south west so either get no sun or lots of sun. The room was airy, clean and linen changed. There were no extras in the room; wine... More

It is clean but dated. The hotel room looks more like an average 3/4 star hotels on the Mainland US, then a beach resort hotel. It is quite clean. I think Hawaii has some catching up to do compare to the nice (and relatively inexpensive) beach resort hotels in South East Asia. The hotel charges a resort fee. However they... More

We spent three nights at this beautiful resort and enjoyed everything about it. It's convenient (20 minutes) to the Kona airport. It has great facilities, a courteous staff and wonderful accommodations. Food and bar service were outstanding and reasonably priced. We will return. More

We just returned from a 6 night stay here. Our family stayed next door at the Hilton, we decided on the Marriott at the last minute because the Hilton was out of "ocean view" rooms. We soon discovered that an "ocean view" at the Marriott is pretty much the same as a "partial ocean view" at the Hilton. (they are... More

I agree with many of the other reviewers, this is not a Four Seasons--it's a Marriott. We have stayed at the Mauna Lani, Hapuna and visited friends at the Four Seasons. Mauna Lani is very beautiful and more upscale; Hapuna is run down; Marriott is inbetween. This is a very low key hotel with very nice rooms, beautiful grounds, a... More

We were 2 "girls" traveling and were really pleased with this hotel. The front desk upgraded us to a room overlooking the pool and the beach...it was great. The beach out front of the hotel was nice and we were able to walk each morning - choosing between the sandy side where we saw Sea Turtles sunning themselves and the... More

We knew going into our stay that this Marriott was not a 5 star hotel.. yet. But we wanted to be in the Waikoloa area and they don't charge as much as some of the other Waikoloa hotels charge. The area is pricey. If you want less cost, stay down in Kaulia-Kona. Marriott is slowly but steadily doing what they... More

We went to the islands for 2 weeks. 1st week we were on Oahu (See my review of Turtle Bay). 2nd week we came here. I struggled on giving what kind of rating I was going to put down. I started on average, but as I wrote this review and remembered all the events, circumstance and conditions it change to... More

I was a bit nervous about this hotel before I arrived, because I'd stayed at the Marriott in Lihue, Kauai, a few years previously, and it was crammed full of noisy families and 'Jingle Bell Rock' on loop. When you're there for business, and to run a conference, you worry about such things. But I needn't have worried, because there... More
