We stayed here for seven nights over spring break and my daughter's 10th birthday. I don't really consider myself a resort person because I would rather be up and about, but since the point was to really relax and do NOTHING on this vacation, I chose this venue as our base camp. And I'm so glad I did! Although we... More

It is our first time in big island. Just checked in yesterday, we are honeymooners and expected a little more kindness and good service, specially in the restaurant area. yesterday we tried to have dinner at the Hawaiian Call (hotel's restaurant)...we weren't able! Waiters never came to our table and when finally did, he told us that the hostess was... More

We checked in yesterday for 3 nights. First, other guests cut the check in line, using their kids as the reason, after seeing a line 3 people deep. Second, the Luau is not a place for you if you are not a 'country club' member. Our table guests commented on how 'disgusting an dirty' real tattoos are, right before seeing... More

Property is pretty and not too big. This property has Beach access via a 5 to 10 minute walk. Sand is nice and bay is pretty and calm. Both times we've been to the beach we've seen small sea turtles. Rooms are nice and modern but small. Staff is friendly. Parking is self parking and is included in hotel fee.

We are Marriott reward owners and we found this location to be excellent as the weather was perfect, nice beach and pool, and a well maintained property as you would expect of a Marriott resort. Reading the other reviews recently really sums it up. We stayed in a pool view king bedroom on the 6th floor which also had a... More

My wife and I typically try to avoid resorts like the plague and instead book homes, B&B's, cottages or small boutique hotels, however, in this case we had no choice as I was speaking at a conference that was held here and it was just more convenient to be "on base" due to the other related activities and associated social... We recently stayed here for several days. We are Marriott rewards customers, so we always stay at Marriott. This was not a category 6 hotel. The rooms in "B" building were way overdue for bathrooms, carpet, etc. very disappointing. Location was great, very near restaurants & shopping. Hotel restaurant gets an A+ for food & price.

Aloha and thank you for taking the time to post your comments. The categorization of each individual hotel is based on its type and location and is determined by Marriott. Thank you for the nice comments about our Hawaii Calls Restaurant and yes there are some other great shops and restaurants within walking distance. We agree that our carpeting needs... More

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. I think the highlights would be comfortable rooms, beautiful grounds that are well kept, great beach to walk and explore, classic sunsets, and a delicious breakfast buffet. The resort never felt crowded and it was nice and laid back. I wish they didn't stick you with a $25 per day resort fee... More

We were here when it was built. My daughter had her wedding reception here ( the first ). Thirty-one years later you would think the hotel was old and showing her age. Not so the grounds are well maintained, the rooms modern, and pools are pristine. A great hotel to return to again and again.

30 mins north of Kona airport. Facilities are adequate - tennis court, ping pong table, 3 small pools, etc. Can borrow rackets at the concierge. Queen's market 15 mins walk from here, there's a supermarket, though pricey. I think it's a big island thing where there isn't a lot of selection for restaurants. Same with this hotel, not a lot...
