We abruptly decided to stay in Volcano and found this property. It was very nice, clean, and located in a quite place. We woke up early morning with voices of birds chirping and nature getting ready for another day, and took a walk in the neighborhood. The overall experience was awesome.

During our vacation in the Kohala District, we booked a night at Lokahi Lodge in the Liko Room so we could visit Volcano National Park at night. Check-in went smoothly at the The Chalet Kilauea which is maybe 2 miles from Lokahi Lodge – both are very easy to find. The Lokahi Lodge is a small unit with 5 guest... More

We arrived about 7.30 on a chilly, dark, wet night, dropped off by a tour bus as we didn't have a car at that stage. Luckily reception was still open and the bus didn't leave us and go as the lodge was quite some distance from the chalet reception, down unlit, narrow lanes, and hard to find in the dark.... More

I stayed in the Makalapua room which is spacious and has a king size bed. I thought the bed was very comfortable. There was a coffee maker, fridge and microwave in an alcove. TV mounted high on the wall. It was always very warm in room even when it was cold outside. Everything was very clean and the towels were... More

We stayed in the building about 1 mile drive from main house. Our room was very comfortable with A microwave and refrig. The continental breakfast was adequate. We even made use of the Hot tub in rear of building. If you plan on buying food be sure to do so in Hilo before getting on road to The Lodge. Restaurants... More

We stayed at the Kilauea Lodge many years ago and, while we had a nice time, I am very happy we tried Lokahi Lodge. We booked two rooms, the Makalapua Room and the Naupaka Room. There were four of us in total and I think we could have all fit into the Naupaka Room using one of the futons that... More

We stayed here for one night-just a quick trip. Terrific location-5 minutes from Volcano National Park. We stayed in the Pamakani Room, which is located at a side property (not the main Lodge with the lovely Koi pond). We got in really late but it was easy to find even though it was DARK.in the area. Nobody was at the... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights while visiting the volcano national park. The accommodation was perfect for our needs, mostly due to the location just outside the park. The room was nothing fancy but it was comfortable and cosy. We enjoyed the sound of loud creature making a striking noise at sundown (I think it was a frog... More

My friends and I stayed one night at the Chalet Kilauea during our week long stay on the Big Island. The Chalet was simple and bare bones but fit our needs. Aloha and thank you for taking your time to review the Lokahi Lodge. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the Naupaka room. It is definitely a spacious room. As for the "creepy" voices, I would imagine that there were guests that "stayed behind" while their friends or family went out hiking. (We see that a... More

This lodge is on a quiet street in a rainforest area. It is about a 5 minute drive to Volcanos National Park. We stayed in the Naupaka room. It has two beds (one king and one queen), which was great for our family of 2 adults & 2 kids. There is a dining table, two couches, and a TV.

Aloha and thank you for reviewing Lokahi Lodge with Tripadvisor. We are glad that you had an enjoyable stay with us. We apologize for the heat of the room. However, 99% of the time, because of our elevation, it is almost always cold here. We recently had some unusual heat waves pass through and we are again back to our... More
