We stayed at Volcano Country Cottages for 3 days beginning of April 2015. Loved every minute of it. The location is ideal just outside the Volcanoes National Park. We stayed in The Artist's House. Garret and Sandy are great hosts and Garret is a wealth of knowledge of the island. He gave us great tips on visiting the Volcanoes National... More

There was nothing not to like about this lovely B and B. We stayed in February only for one night and that was a big mistake...... we wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was lovely, the cottage, the gardens and of course the hot tub!! Garret and Sandy are such warm and welcoming hosts and provided us with excellent... More

Aloha and mahalo nui loa for all your kind words. We appreciate that you took the time to review us as well. Yes, one night usually isn't long enough, but realize that time is limited so many must move on. Good to hear that you enjoyed the Lava Rock, we will have to try their burger! The Cafe Ohia is... We stayed here for 10 nights at the end of February 2015 while visiting our family who were living nearby while doing volcanic research. Our cottage was roomy, immaculately presented and very well equipped, including a heater for the chilly nights at that time of year at 4000 ft height, and all that one needed in the kitchen. The system... More

Mahalo nui for your kind words and for taking the time to review our place. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and that the breakfast worked well for you. Garret does love his gardens and is always happy to give tours, or allow you to do so on your own. We have been fortunate to have June's famous bread... More

I am a bit late in reviewing this but better late than never. We visited Volcano Country Cottages for 2 days in late April 2014 and it was myself, my mum and sister. Volcano Country Cottages were very cute little houses, with an absolutely beautiful garden. The house does not have a TV which was fine for us as we... More

Although this recommendation is a little late in getting posted, I'm now surrounded by snow thinking of our Hawaii vacation and the wonderful time we spent at Volcano Country Cottages. After arriving after dark and winding our way back to our cottage, we didn't know what to expect in the morning. What a wonderful surprise to find our cottage surrounded... More

Aloha and mahalo nui for thinking of us again! It's nice to have those memories for those times you are surrounded by snow. We do love sharing the island as has been mentioned before and as we say, if you have your own agenda, we are happy to let follow your heart. Mahalo for your kind words and we do... More

we stayed in the Artist Cottage, 2 couples, 2 rooms, shared bathroom and living room. Lovely up in the trees experience, charming host, great gardens to walk through. Clean, very comfortable bed, with fleece sheets for the cool night.

Aloha and so glad you took the time to review our place. Mahalo for your kind words. Many have commented the Artist's House was like staying in a treehouse. . . We are happy you enjoyed the gardens as well. The fleece sheets are nice for this cooler climate, when it is warmer, they are great alone, no blanket needed.... More

7 friends and I spent two nights here in order to explore Volcano National Park. My best friend and I were in the Artist's House as we wanted our own beds. Mahalo for taking the time to review our little piece of paradise. We are always pleased to hear that someone has enjoyed our property. The Artist's House was built in the mid-1940's so it does have that "grandma's house" feel to and a bit of the old Hawaii feel as well. It is great for two singles because you do... More

The property has 4 unique cottages on a secluded lot. The owners are exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The property is very well taken care of and clean. All of the cottages had great amenities, bedding, and warm robes for chilly nights. A short drive, or walking distance to the restaurants and general store. A great value and not... More

We recently spent two nights at the Volcano Country Cottages. The location is perfect, just outside Volcanoes Natural Park.
