The Lodge has clean, spacious rooms, not damp, cold or moldy. Oh dear. I'm about to provide a different view from those of most other reviewers but there you go. We were very impressed with the setting and ambience of the lodge; it has a lovely feel and the gardens are well tended and large. Stayed in room #6 in Sept 09. Room was spacious and private. Romantic. Appropriate for a honeymoon. Breakfast was equisite. Served fireside. I have read previous reviews that included complaints about breakfast but I disagree. It was sufficient, and not worthy of complaint. Price was fair. we go to the kilauea lodge every year for our anniversary. the room we stayed in was very comfortable with high ceilings and a great decor...lots of room and character. we also ate at the restaurant which is always a tasty experience...the service was great and the food even better. plus the free breakfast the next morning is a little... more

Friendly staff. Rooms with fireplace(gas). Nice for the cold/wet evenings. Free WIFI available in the area of the Common room. Very clean. They have flash lights and umbrellas you can borrow for free. Breakfast is free, but portions/selection is very limited. We had to buy extra side dishes.
