We chose this location because it was close to Volcano National Park and it sounded so much nicer then just stating in a hotel. We really like the place and the nice home made breakfast. The Lava Tour was excellent added to the overall experience. We tend to not stay in the same place twice, but if we end up... More

This place is very convenient to Volcano National Park. The best feature is a super cool lava tube on the property. They give you a free tour in it for staying there, complete with head lamp helmet, gloves, and flashlight! The room is large, but kind of musty with old bedspreads. The breakfast is minimal and basic. Nice family runs... More

If you want to visit the volcano national park during the day and the night (to see the glow), stay there! We loved the room, the breakfast, and the lava tube tour added a nice touch. I recommend this place.

We arrived as it started to rain (just normal rain, we left Hawaii before Iselle) and the owners came out to greet us--very friendly. The room we had included a king and full(?) bed, and was cozy. The minifridge was nicely stocked with breakfast items, and included home baked Hawaiian bread. It was great being close to the Volcanoes National... More

We selected Aloha Crater Lodge due to its proximity to Volcano National Park, and the on-site lava tube access (plus free breakfast) The locale is a welcome respite from the "sterilized" hotel/resort scene, and situated within a very beautiful tropical rainforest setting. The lava tube, with access directly in front of the house, conveyed a "rugged adventure" type feel to... More

We chose the Aloha Crater Lodge because we wanted to see the Kazumura lava tube. We were not disappointed. It was fascinating. Bring long pants, closed-toed shoes or hiking boots, a flashlight and a camera.

The owners are very kind and wonderful people. Even though we got there after dark, it was easy to find with the help of the owners directions and they even came out to greet us after 9pm. The breakfast had a lot of great options including local produce. The lava tube tour made it a 5 out of 5, so... More

We had a pleasant experience at our first bed and breakfast. Choice of breakfast food was enough for my husband and me. Bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a dehumidifier in the room. The only problem was no light over the bathroom mirror. It made it difficult for my husband to shave. It was nice to get... More

We stayed in a small room with the kitchenette and the small jacuzzi tub in the same room! Cob webs in the kitchenette/jacuzzi room. The dishes & silverware were not clean. We were afraid to turn on the fan because the fan had at least an inch of dust on it! They had a very small room that looked like... More
