I loved Volcano Village Lodge as it is unique and romantic unlike a typical hotel. The Lodge is quiet and romantic. The ladies who manged our stay were fantastic. I loved the cookies. Say HI to Gino for us.

This time we brought our children and decided to stay at Volcano Village Lodge even though the price was significantly higher than where we stayed last time. My daughter loved Gino the celebrity cat and was almost in tears when she had to tell him bye. The lodge we had was very large and very comfortable.

Mahalo nui loa for taking the time to write a review of our property. We are so glad to hear that you returned and this time brought your children. Volcano Village Lodge is nestled in the native, Hawaiian rainforest minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Our largest unit, Mauna Loa, can sleep a family of four comfortably, especially if one... More

My wife wanted a treehouse experience, and while this isn't it, it's pretty close. The main window was floor to ceiling and looking out into the rain forest. There are no curtains, so that's what you saw at night and it's what you woke up into in the morning. The bed was amazingly comfortable and it had a little fireplace... More

Mahalo for your review of Volcano Village Lodge and the Hale Kilauea room! We would like to note that our Hale Kilauea (one of our most popular rooms!) is unique in that it faces out into untouched rainforest on our property. Since there are no pathways or other guest cottages on the side of this room, we have left one... More

This is my definition of a perfect romantic retreat. We stayed for a special occasion and thought the place romantic and quiet. This isn't a B&B. This is a lodge in a rainforest. Thank goodness we weren't required to dine with others. Breakfast was in our room and we loved the romance of it.

Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate hearing from you! While we occasionally get guests who might prefer a more communal dining experience, we find that most of our guests share your thoughts and we are so happy that you expressed your happiness with our breakfast setup. We set up breakfast individually inside each guest cottage so that our... More

Loved, loved, loved this place! The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was abundant and delicious. The staff was super helpful and gave us special surprises to make our anniversary celebration even better! We stayed in the Mauna Kea cabin. It was beautiful with lovely flower arrangements and a nice, much-needed gas fireplace. The only down-side was that our... More

My husband and I stayed here to visit the Volcanoes National Park and it was a lovely little oasis in the rainforest. The cozy cabin amongst the trees was quiet (apart from the amazing birdsong in the morning we almost thought must be a recording!) It was very comfortable and though it was a bed and breakfast so no restaurant... More

This lodge was a little hard to find, but that turned out to be a plus. We had privacy and quiet in a rain forest setting. Though the lodging was a cabin, the mattress was extremely comfortable and the shower was just great. Don't expect a great breakfast, but the food is waiting in your room fridge, so you don't... Aloha, We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time at Volcano Village Lodge. In the state of Hawaii, permitted bed & breakfasts are unable to provide hot meals in the morning. Our creative way of providing a balanced breakfast is to prepare and serve the meal the evening before. We were happy to hear that you enjoyed being... More

The property itself was nice and clean. We stayed in the Mauna Kea room which was a good size and the breakfast left in the room was very good (fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cinnamon French toast (that you can heat in the small toaster oven)! We stayed 2 nights at the Volcano Village Lodge on our honeymoon. Mahalo for taking the time to write a review of our property. Volcano Village Lodge is, indeed, located close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, in the heart of the native rain forest. Volcano Village, is a small town located 45 minutes from Hilo. In general, the Island of Hawaii lacks “night life”, which is what draws many in. The room,... More
