What a lovely place to stay. All rooms are so private and you feel like you are part of the tropical rain forest. We especially like the large common area. We have been there 8 times now over the past 4 years and love it. The price is reasonable and now includes a yummy continental breakfast. If it is rainy... More

I reserved five nights as we wanted to spend plenty of time exploring VNP and other sights on the south side of the island. The inn offers great rates if you stay multiple nights since there is no housekeeping service. I think we paid around $82 a night and sent a check at the time of booking. Prior to our... More

Good value with great service and outstanding breakfast. One downside but lots of good or really good. Family of four stayed one night. We had a "suite" which was a room with small queen bed and bunk beds and another room with bunk beds and a table and chairs separated by a curtain. Not a lot of privacy between rooms... More

We stayed there 1 night, in the Mauna Kea room (upstairs). The location is perfect a few minutes from the volvano park. The room was very spacious with big windows and view on the surrounding forest. Coffee and tea were available all day long in the common area, with microwave oven and fridge. Staff was very friendly and knowledgable. For... More

This is our second time staying at the Volcano Inn and we loved it. My partner and I were pleasantly surprised when we found out that breakfast was now included for free. Better yet, it was delicious and included fresh locally grown island fruits and coffee. Our corner window room featured stunning views of the native Ohia forest surrounding us.... More

We stayed here for one night at the end of our time on the Big Island. We were spending a day at the Volcano National Park both before and after sundown and we wanted to stay locally before heading to the Hilo airport at 5:30am. The place is pretty. We stayed in one of the rooms across the highway which... More

Volcano Village sits at an elevation of four thousand feet and is situated in a dense and humid rain forest. We do our best to combat the effects of this environment which includes having dehumidifiers in all rooms. If we receive a complaint about mold or mildew in the air, we offer to change rooms, usually to an elevated one... More

Stayed here in October 2014. Location is great, close to Volcanoes National Park. However, the room we had was very damp and stuffy. It was raining so we had to keep the windows closed. We ran the dehumidifier but it made the room even more stuffy (and hot too). Bed was old, pillows were very thin. Breakfast was fine -... More

My husband and I stayed here along with another couple. We rented a house in Mauna Kea but wanted to go to the other side of the island and have enough time to enjoy it. This is definitely not the fanciest place you will find, and it is much more like a B&B than a hotel, but it was exactly... More

Our party of 3 adults stayed in the Volcano Inn for 4 nights in August, and enjoyed our stay very much. It's a very comfortable, low-key B&B type of place. We had an upstairs room with a king and a queen bed. Very clean and homey. The inn is in Volcano Village, just a few minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National... More
