We spent four nights at the Ohia Paniolo Cottage located in quiet residential neighborhood just a couple miles from Volcanoes National Park. It was a very comfortable place to spend the evenings. The two-bedroom, one-bath home is very inviting and decorated well. We arrived to find breakfast fixings including a generous platter of fruit, Punalu’u Bake Shop sweet rolls, and... More

Our family gathered for a long weekend to explore the Volcano area and the Mauna Kea summit. This location is ideal for both. Our home was completely furnished. It is clear the owners have been thoughtful in providing essentials some vacation rentals overlook such as condiments, paper-goods, useful utensils. There were plenty of linens and toiletries. We appreciated these touches... More

Arriving at the Ohia Plantation Cottage is like arriving at your own cottage except someone has been there to prepare it for you. There were fresh-cut flowers, in every room and in the two outdoor sitting areas. There was fresh fruit and taro bread. Not only was there a fresh pineapple but also the slicer to cut it. The week... The home is beautiful and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The house is large and the floor plan is well laid out. It's in a very private setting just minutes from Volcano National Park. Very convenient. The continental breakfast that greeted us our first day there was very welcomed. We also liked the tradition of previous guests leaving condiments and... More

This is a long overdue review... We stayed there during Xmas. The cottage is very well decorated and has all the necessary stuff when traveling in the region, e.g., flash lights ;-) Just like a home. The owner is very good at answering all the questions.

The hospitality extended to us by Cliff and Bernie was absolutely incredible, and I simply can't speak highly enough of our stay at the Ohia Paniolo Cottage. First off, lets go over the amenities, then back to the hospitality. The cottage itself is very well maintained, and the hot tub was perfectly sized for the area and maintained. The kitchen... More

We just got back from a week of traveling in Hawaii, endng our final two days at Ohia Plantation House. A more perfect place could not be found! In terms of location, value and setting it was the best way ever to conclude our trip. This beautifully decorated, well appointed and spacious home was just right for our party of... More

Excellent, well equipped cottage, kitchen with everything you need, large hot tub, quiet location yet 5 minutes from Volcano park. And not expensive at all: after a long search I may say that this is one of the best values in the area. Bottom row: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. So why not 5*? Some personal touch is missing. The owners are working... More

My family of four, including two teens stayed in the plantation house for two nights in January. We felt right at home. It is in a very quiet location, yet is just minutes away from the National Park. The home is decorated beautifully and is surrounded by a lush rainforest landscape. The owner charged us $160 a night, which was... More

Our family (three couples and a baby) enjoyed this beautiful home while we explored the national park. Even though we were there in July, the first night was very chilly. The second night we made sure we had the electric space heaters handy.
