Close to the National Park, our recent stay at My Island B&B, gave us the wonderful combination a good breakfast; cordial conversation with international guests; spacious rainforest grounds with many tropical blooms; and a comfortable nights rest. Elder, Gordon knows all there is to know about the Big Island and the rest of the islands as well. His experience and... More

I stayed at My Island B&B for a week in the main house. Breakfast was wonderful. Lots of fruit, breads, cereal, hard boiled eggs, etc. I never left feeling hungry. I was very comfortable, feeling at ease and relaxed. It was interesting hearing what other guests had to say over breakfast and listening to Gordon's stories. If you have any... More

This was a fine B&B, with friendly family people. It's a little funky... it's supposed to be - it's an old house. Gordon Moore, the old gentleman who tends it is worth the price of admission. We paid about $100/night and it was great to hear all his stories.

Four of us shared the Deck House for three nights. It is a complete house, well equipped with everything you would need, including coffee, in a lovely garden setting. Gordon gave us a detailed itinerary for both days we were there. We followed it exactly and it was terrific. Kii, his daughter, was wonderfully helpful as well. It is very... More

Older property, clean, good location, great owners. Spent one night here after viewing the red glow from the volcano. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed talking with owner, Mr. Morse who was born and raised in Hawaii and has written many books about the area. He is in his 80's and sharp as can be. Daughter, Kii,... More

We really enjoyed staying at this special B&B. Kii and her father Gordan truly make you feel at home and I don't think I've ever had a better breakfast. Homemade breads, fresh fruit and more. The grounds are lush and lovely. The house & accommodations may be on the dated side but meeting such interesting people who put extra effort... More

We just stayed here one night, having driven over from Kona, hoping to see the red glare from the caldera in Volcano National Park. Unfortunately rain & fog prevented that from happening but our stay here was warm & welcoming. Kii made us feel so comfortable, we enjoyed chatting with her & learning about this area where she & her... More

We stayed here three nights while visiting Volcanoes National Park and Hilo. The Morse family clearly knows their business model and how to run a B&B. By the way, Mr. Morse was quite a mover and shaker in the Hilo business community post-WW2. He has a lot of good stories, and is a wealth of information! I enjoyed staying here... More

So now that the title has gotten out of the way the worst part of this B&B; lets talk about the not so annoying things: I was excited to stay at a historic house but was disappointed the character of the inside didn't match that of the outside: it just looked like the inside of any modern house that had... The first impression you get when you arrive at this tiny b&b is 'aloha'. Indeed, the tenants immediately make you feel at home by heartly welcoming us. The house is in the midden of immensity; when you walk around you feel this impressive feeling of wild nature with an amazing smell. The room I slept in was nice; simply furnished... More
