We stayed at My Island B & B for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed all that was available. We stayed in the yellow room and found it comfortable, quiet, and very clean. The towels were changed every day and always smelled very fresh and clean--something that is not all that common in our experience of B&B stays. Our host, Gordon... more

I remember as a decent room to stay, nothing spectacular, but good. the best was the family who runs it. Very friendly and attentive. Excellent breakfast and huge portions. The old man who runs it sits with you at tells you everything you need!!. I would go back if I had teh chance. Close to the entrance to the volcano... more

Stayed 2 nights in the blue room within the garden unit. We loved the casual, comfortable setting with congenial hosts. Gordon Morse, the patriarch, is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about making your visit memorable. His daughter Kii hosted breakfast , she is a congenial hostess and also quite knowledgeable. We found our room to be quaint and comfortable. The 7... more

I confess the older I get, the less I enjoy the B&B travel lifestyle. Usually it's the other way around, isn't it? B&B tend to attract older, mature travellers. Count me out. The lack of privacy in a common house, shared facilities and over-enthusiastic proprietors insisting all sorts of facts and suggestions on you... Just bear this in mind as... more

I was quite disappointed when we first got here. We stayed in the Blue garden suite which smelled a bit 'old' when we first went in. It got better when we opened all the windows and doors to get some air in! It felt like something from the 80s and in my opinion could do with updating, although i know... more

We had a very pleasant stay at this Great Bed and breakfast. We stayed in the in-law room. The breakfast was really good, Papaya with macadamia nuts and home-made muffins. As soon as we came Gordon sat us down and gave us a very good overview of the things to be done and pamphlets that explained every thing there was... more

My Island B&B is very conveniently located for visiting the national park. The physical layout is only so-so. We were in the family room, so we had lots of space and our own half bath, but oddly no door at the top of the stairs. There is a community refrigerator but no cooking privileges. Good selection of tea available all... more

Mostly I agree with the other reviews - it's a friendly peaceful spot for sure. Probably just bad luck that our stay coincided with a particularly cold and wet weather spell. We would of liked the deck house heating to of been in better shape - there is a crack in the wood burning stove chimney which means heating is... more

My Island B&B was very memorable - mostly due to Gordon's infinite knowledge of the area and suggestions/directives about what to do and where to eat and when to do and eat these things. There is a wealth of information from the book Gordon has published to the array of leaflets they have put together about each of the activity... more
