My Island is really a dreamworld. Walks through the rainforest, and Gordon Morse. He and his books are real gems for those who want to know how whatever event happened, since before my time (I first thought about volcanoes in Hawaii at age 6...1959). The accomodations (Deck House) are wonderful, but some of the funiture (sofa and front room stuff)... More

We stayed two nights in the "In Law" Room on the first floor of this historic home built by missionaries. It is surrounded by tropical gardens which are particularly beautiful after a gentle rain which dresses the petals and leaves of these exotic plants with rain drops and beading. We were met by Gordon who, after we were settled, gave... More

Very clean and comfortable B&B near Volcano National Park. Gorgeous grounds to ramble and great food for breakfast. The hosts are very knowledgeable and helpful in planning what to do and see in the area. More

We love this place! The grounds are historic and beautiful, and Kii is a generous hostess! The breakfast is to die for, homemade everything (butter, jams. muffins) show you that they really care. Anyone who writes a bad review of this place needs a head check! Mahalo My Island Inn for making our Volcano stay so special! More

My wife and I stayed here for, sadly, only one night on our travels around the island. We had a little trouble getting a car and had to change the booking at the last minuite for which Kii and her parents were really helpful. If what you want is something a little secluded and off the beaten track, family run,... More

My husband and I just spent several days here as part of our honeymoon and had an excellent stay. We stayed in the deck house, which provided nice privacy and plenty of room. The breakfast was delicious. Kii and her family did a wonderful job of orienting us so that we knew all of the best park trails to hike... More

We stayed only 1 night but enjoyed this place. I thought it was neat because it is one of the original missionaries homes. Our room was small but comfortable, the food was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful as we planned our visit to the national park. The close location to the park and the rain forest... When we arrived at My Island, my family and I wished we had booked the Deck House for a week. 3 days was just not long enough. The Deck House was absolutely beautiful and the surrounding gardens were stunning. The kids loved playing in the front yard on the grass and going on walks through the pathways. Next time we... More
