We stayed for 3 nights and loved this charming place. The grounds were immaculate and our cottage had a magical view out back onto a lush green vista. Our host, Michael, was kind and helpful. Breakfast was fresh fruit, date bread, orange bread, and delicious juice. The location was 2 minutes from Volcano National Park. We could not have asked... More

We loved everything about these cottages - from the well manicured landscape to the private and charming lodging to Michael, the owner! This was the best stay of our vacation, and we've had some tough contenders - including the Fairmont Orchid and Hapuna Prince on the Gold Coast. We would love to come back, maybe bring some friends and take... More

This place is amazing! I felt like I was in a fairytale the whole time I stayed here! This was one of the cheapest places I stayed in Hawaii and well exceeded my opinion of most of the so called 5 star resorts. Service is exceptional and I would happily say some of the best I have ever had. Staff... More

My partner and myself stayed here for 2 nights after a large resort stay. The suite was simply decorated in the cottage style. The window in the bathroom didn't close tightly. It got a little cold at night. There was a space heater that kept the room warm and toasty. The staff was pleasant. The breakfast was homemade and consisted... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was fine. We didn't find our room particularly comfortable. Breakfast was provided in the room the night before. It was fruit and banana bread both nights. It was a fairly mediocre breakfast and you can only eat so much banana bread! I wouldn't be going back here.

The grounds are beautiful and the location excellent for exploring volcanoes national park. However, the room is very tight with no closets and drawers that were very difficult to open and dirty and unusable once opened. When we complained the answer was - most people don't use drawers, however they did clean them. Breakfast is eaten in the room but... More

We spent the night in the 3 bedroom Ohia cottage. It was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The night we stayed it was chilly. So it was nice to have a heater to warm the place up. The kitchen had everything you would need. They provided coffee, tea, homemade banana bread and fresh fruit for breakfast. The location was very... More

We stayed in the Hale Ohia for 2 nights to visit the Volcano National Park. It is a lovely place hidden in the woods but not far away from the highway. We experienced a very friendly welcome and got great recommendations what to do and were to eat in Volcano. The Volcano Nationalpark is only a 5 min drive away... More

This was my 4th stay at Hale Ohia in 23 years, and I hope to return. The cottages and the grounds feel like an enchanted forest, and it is a joy to wake up to the view out the window, even in a cold rain. Combine that with the great location close to Volcano Village and to the Park entrance,... More

We stayed in the Dillingam Suite, 2adults and 2 kids. Totally loved the suite. The suite had a refrigrator, microwave, plates, cups. Living room had a sofa bed with a trundle. Very nice place for 2 kids to sleep. The restroom even had a small book shelf with few books to read. There were extra blankets and pillows. My kids... More
