Enjoy the easy loop to the waterfalls, and when you're done snapping pics, pretend that you burned a few calories, and stop by Mr Eds on your way back to Hilo or Kona (you passed it just before you took the final turn to the falls). The cinnamon roll and monkey bread are good, but the ginger cookies get five... More

A must do while visiting big island. The walk is very easy for all ages. There are 2 waterfalls to see and it is worth your time. The first one is smaller and last is Akaka Fall. Great experience. Highly recommended

Nice easy hike to beautiful falls. If you want to take the easier way, take the hike on the left as it is shorter. The other hike is fairly easy with beautiful scenery. The falls were amazing. This is a must see in Hawaii.

This is by far one of the most breathtaking waterfalls I've seen. It's over 400 ft of thundering beauty. There is also another watjer fall that is about 1/3 miles away on the same trail. Just stunning and if you are on the Hilo side, I believe this to be a must see!

Obviously a beautiful waterfall, but the park is also well manicured and easy to walk. Inexpensive at $1 person or $5 car and definitely worth the visit. We stopped here as part of our around the island drive, and it was a nice stop. Be sure to park on the street outside the parking lot if you have less than... More

We drove from Hilo to Waikoloa and saw the sign "Akaka Falls" and decided to take a detour. It's probably about 45 minutes both ways for this detour but it's quite worth it. The fall itself is not really big, but it's great to see a little gem tucked away in the residential valley. I would visit again.

We stayed 4 days at this house located 11 miles away from Hilo, near the village of Honomu. The place is perfect if you're looking to be away from everything for a couple of days. It sits on 2 acres of land in the tropical forest, consisting of banana, mango and avocado trees, and it's recommended to have a 4x4... More
