Thank you Garvin and Laura for a wonderful stay during our 3 nights in the Hilo Bay Room. I always looked forward to breakfast being served on the lanai overlooking the lustrous greenery and ocean every morning. The amazing french toast, pancakes along with the freshest fruit you can imagine. Breakfast is served between 8-9am, My husband was so comfortable... More

Everything you could want in a Big Island B&B - lovely room, friendly, helpful hosts, beautiful location, delicious breakfasts, not too many coqui frogs. Wonderful breakfast with fresh eggs and fruit from their farm -- easy to linger on the lanai. The room was very comfortable, with everything we needed and lots of room. We'll definitely return.

Laura and Garvin are the perfect hosts--gracious, helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts were refreshing, with lots of local fruit (even some from their garden), eggs from their hens, and tasty pancakes, waffles, muffins--all home baked and not too sweet. Our unit had two bedrooms, perfect for a family. The coffee was not watered down like other places--we were served... More

My husband and I usually stay in B&B's on our vacations because of the invaluable insight into an area provided by the proprietors. No one has done this better than Island Goode's! Garvin and Laura are warm, hospitable and knowledgeable of the island of Hawaii, and with great senses of humor. The Hilo Bay Room was large, very well-appointed, with... More

Well, first of all I must say that I am -way- past due for a review of this wonderful B&B. I've stayed their twice now with every intention of returning sooner than later. I was remiss in not writing a note from August of 2013, and now late from my June 2014 visit. Well, with that out of the way... More

This was our first stay in a B&B, anywhere in the world, and if all B&Bs are run like Laura and Garvin run Island Goode’s then we will be staying in a lot more in our future travels. Island Goode’s is an easy 10min drive from Hilo airport just off Highway 19. We stayed for 3 nights in the Hilo... More

The Island Goodes were so wonderfully helpful and accommodating. The breakfasts were large and delicious. Laura accommodated our dietary restrictions with ease and grace, and delighted in showing us new island fruits. Gavin was so laid back and kind when our delayed flight put us in late at night. The rooms were clean, lovely and had many thoughtful conveniences. The... More

Thank you so much for your hospitality! This inviting, comfortable and spacious B&B is everything anyone could ever ask for. We appreciate you accommodating us on such short notice and rescuing us from our original plans. The breakfasts were delicious. The local fresh eggs, corn omelette, baked goods and fruits were tasty and will be missed. There are definitely no... More

We spent our first four nights on Hawaii at Island Goodes. Despite our late arrival, Garvin took the time to show us everything we needed to know, with Laura taking over when it came to providing breakfast the following morning. We found it a great base for exploring the Eastern side of the Island, with everything we wanted to see... More

We had a wonderful time at Island Goode's. I felt I was back in my homeland (Colombia, South America) with all the tropical landscape, lush vegetation, panoramic views, beautiful sunsets, and specially the hospitality and excellent service. We stayed at the Ginger Room, very spacious, clean and with all amenities. Breakfasts were spectacular, with all that fresh tropical fruit, pancakes,... More
