Irene is a lovely host. The location is so peaceful. The rooms are clean and the grounds beautiful. So close to Pahoa and the lava tours. The breakfast is fantastic served on the verandah. If you are lucky Irene will serve some of her homemade spreads. I highly recommend it.

I stayed at the Lava Tree Tropic Inn in April 2013 for the second time. I originally went there in November, and liked it so much that I had to go back. The owner, Irene, is the nicest and most amazing person I have ever met at an accommodation. The breakfasts are great and served on a lovely covered porch,... More

Wow - what a find!!! We saw the website, then made the mistake of copying the address to use in my GPS. Well the address was wrong! The owner will explain it all over coffee. It's best to call ahead and have Irene, the owner, give you instructions as to how to get there, as it is in Lava Tree... More

We came in February 2013;stayed for 8 days, We didn't know what to expect and was amazed by the hostess Irene; the guests, the food and the landscape. It was just all amazing! We were treated like family, a home away from home. It was the first time my husband & I did not want to leave to go back... More

I visited the Lava Tree Tropic Inn July of 2012, and had the time of my life. It was like staying at a friend's house, but there is no surprise there. This is a Bed & Breakfast. If you like multi-course breakfasts including home grown tropical fruits and jams to hold you through most of your busy day, friendly table... More

My Russian friend and I stayed at the Lava Tree Tropic Inn at the start of November, for 8 days. I had come to Hawaii to celebrate my birthday, and cross some stuff off my bucket list. I found the Lava Tree on the internet, and it looked beautiful and reasonably priced, so I booked it. I was not disappointed... More

We are a couple from Holland what is litterly at the other side of the globe, but here we came home. Not only the unique location, but also the hospitallity from Irene was more than just a... More

This b&b is just awesome! An amazing frame of tropical nature, a very comfortable accomodation and super friendly Irene made her very best to let us feel at home. The breackfest is mainly based on local home-made delicious products with large choice of juces, jams, chicken, avocado, cheese salads and many others... It is also a perfect location for all...
