My husband and I spent a wonderful two nights at Ohia House. We wanted to get a visit in to Pahoa during our Big Island adventure. From the minute we pulled into driveway, we felt extremely welcome, almost like we had arrived to visit a family members home. Cindy greeted us outside and immediately helped get us situated in the... More

Hubby and I stayed for an entire week in May and then went to the Kona side for a week. It was our first time to the big island. Ohia House is in a quiet residential area, its about 45 minutes from the airport and a quick drive (5 minutes ) to the funky town of Pahoa. We absolutely loved... More

We had a fantastic time at the Ohia house. It was perfect - romantic, cozy, sparkling clean, spacious, comfortable, in the perfect location. Rick and Cindy are wonderful and kind hosts - delicious breakfast, hike recommendations, garden fruits. It was raining a lot and Cindy kindly dried our wet clothing in their dryer each day (we never asked for it... More

If you are looking for the slow paced island lifestyle to get away from the hectic troubles of life or even just the craziness of the more touristy locations… there is no better place that the Ohia House just outside of Pahoa. We stopped here for four nights after a two day stint in Honolulu. It was an oasis of... More

Cindy and Rick are super nice, the breakfasts and DELICIOUS! Beautiful room in a beautiful forest setting. Very private with our "mother-in-law" suite separate from the house and we are the only guests.

We chose this place as our first stop of our honeymoon trip and we're glad we did that. The place is not hard to find once you follow the instructions of the route map. Each morning, Cindy prepared a different kind of breakfast and we loved it so much!! She told us she can make up to 14 kinds of... More

The always surprisingly wonderful breakfast on the large "Lanai", the fact that we were the only guests, the peaceful surrounding and the informative talks with Cindy & Rick during breakfast, made this place to one of our favorite stays on the "Big Island". The provided guide book combined with the information received during breakfast time helped us to prioritize the... More

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Ohia House last week! Cindy and Rick have really thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. When we arrived Cindy was there to greet us, and each morning over breakfast checked in that we had all we needed and were enjoying our stay. She also had great recommendations for restaurants... Cindy and Rick were wonderful. We had the most amazing experience at the Ohia House and just talking with them. They are wonderful people who make you feel instantly at home. The Ohia house perfectly in the middle of everything we wanted to do on the east side of the island. Easy drive, amazing views, wonderful people in Pahoa. In... More

I returned for my second visit two years after my first. It was still a wonderful b&b. cindy is a delight, and provided the best breakfasts cooked for my friend and I with fresh local produce. The Ohia house is a lovely retreat outside of pahoa, essentially in a lush rain forest. This is not a 5 star hilton resort... More
