We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ohia house, which is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Cindy and Rick are very warmhearted hosts. The homemade breakfast that Cindy cooks is delicious with fresh local ingredients.

Ohia House is a lovely and very quiet B&B in an excellent location for snorkeling the nearby extensive complex of tide pools, one of the best snorkeling venues on the Big Island (“Snorkel Hawaii: The Big Island…” by Judy and Mel Malinowski (2012) is an excellent source; highly recommended.). Beach chairs, towels, and cooler were made available and very much... More

So private and quiet yet close to anywhere you want to go. We felt like we had our own little bit of paradise. Breakfast was excellent, Cindy and Rick the nicest people you can meet. I would return anytime we are lucky enough to go back, and recommend it all the time. Love the hot ponds!

Just recently stayed at the Ohia House and had a wonderful time. The owners Rick and Cindy are great, food was amazing, Cindy really has the breakfast thing down and the room was nicely secluded. Rick gave us a warm welcome and helped us with our bags. The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Really enjoyed exploring Pahoa and the... More

Our stay at Ohia House was wonderful. Cindy and Rick were gracious hosts and the breakfasts were incredible. We visited all of the places that Cindy had suggested and each place was well worth the drive! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much guys!

Loads of space with a large bedroom opening into a larger porch. Food was first rate and our hosts pleasant and welcoming. It is well located to explore the area.We were given a tour of the grounds and learned a lot about Hawaiian plants.

We are just finishing a great three night stay at Cindy and Ricks Ohia house. They have a great setup... you occupy one end of a lovely home that offers seclusion/beauty/comfort/cleanliness. It is perfectly quiet (except for the tree frog serenade which is pleasant and relaxing) and the gardens around the home are lovely. Cindys breakfasts are tasty and her... More

We really enjoyed to stay at Ohia House during our 6 days on Big Island. Cindy and Rick are nice people and they will welcome you in their house located in Pahoa not far from the Volcanoe Park. Cindy prepares such good breakfast that we really enjoyed. After that you are ready to start a good day. The situation is... More

We recently stayed 7 nights at the Ohia House on the first leg of our Big Island vacation. Our first impression when we pulled in the drive was "nice"! The house is very private and landscaped impeccably. We were greeted by Cindy, who after conducting a brief orientation of our accommodations, left us to get settled and relax. We poured... More

We stayed at the Ohia house for three days and it was a fantastic experience. Cindy is a gracious host and extremely knowledgeable about the local area. She gave us great recommendations for things to do which really enhanced our time there. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and healthy.
