We spent 9 nights at Ohia House and everyday was more fabulous than the day before. The breakfasts were outstanding and included different kinds of tropical fruits, many grown in their garden. The homemade lilikoi sauce was our favorite. The room exceeded our expectations: fresh flowers, personal amenities, all the items we needed for a Hawaiian vacation. Cindy and Rick were... More

My husband and I stayed at the Ohia House for eight nights for our first visit to the Big Island and we were thrilled with the accommodations. Cindy and Rick are gracious hosts and give you everything you need for a wonderful vacation. We walked into a beautiful room full of orchids. Cindy made us reservations for a local restaurant... My husband and I spent four nights at The Ohia House during our first and only visit to The Big Island and couldn't have been happier. Before we arrived (two days after Puna had been hit by a hurricane), Cindy kept us updated via email about the damage in the area and the status of electricity, so we knew when... More

This place is the perfect little escape. We were only able to stay for a couple of nights, but we would have stayed longer if it were possible. Cindy and her husband are wonderful hosts. It was so much more special than we expected.

My husband and I spent a wonderful two nights at Ohia House. We wanted to get a visit in to Pahoa during our Big Island adventure. From the minute we pulled into driveway, we felt extremely welcome, almost like we had arrived to visit a family members home. Cindy greeted us outside and immediately helped get us situated in the... More

Hubby and I stayed for an entire week in May and then went to the Kona side for a week. It was our first time to the big island. Ohia House is in a quiet residential area, its about 45 minutes from the airport and a quick drive (5 minutes ) to the funky town of Pahoa. We absolutely loved... More

We had a fantastic time at the Ohia house. It was perfect - romantic, cozy, sparkling clean, spacious, comfortable, in the perfect location. Rick and Cindy are wonderful and kind hosts - delicious breakfast, hike recommendations, garden fruits. It was raining a lot and Cindy kindly dried our wet clothing in their dryer each day (we never asked for it... More

If you are looking for the slow paced island lifestyle to get away from the hectic troubles of life or even just the craziness of the more touristy locations… there is no better place that the Ohia House just outside of Pahoa. We stopped here for four nights after a two day stint in Honolulu. It was an oasis of... More

Cindy and Rick are super nice, the breakfasts and DELICIOUS! Beautiful room in a beautiful forest setting. Very private with our "mother-in-law" suite separate from the house and we are the only guests.

We chose this place as our first stop of our honeymoon trip and we're glad we did that. The place is not hard to find once you follow the instructions of the route map. Each morning, Cindy prepared a different kind of breakfast and we loved it so much!! She told us she can make up to 14 kinds of... More
