Our room was close to the pool, and ocean view. Excellent location for Volcano day trips. Packed a lunch every day for trips to beach, volcano etc. Don't plan on going into Kona, as it's a long drive. Hilo seems closer and an easier drive. I grilled meat on the Q by the pool almost every night. The front office... More

If you like being away from the hum-drum life of everything then this will be just what you want! It features one of the islands natural black beaches. Several times in the day sea turtles come ashore to bask in the sun. There may be one or twelve or more at one time, so timing is everything. The condo itself... More

This is a condo with a full kitchen and is located close to a black sand beach. The pool and hot tub have an ocean view. There are two propane grills free to use. Most condos have a ocean view from the balcony and come with full size refrigerator/freezer, full size electric range, and a washer/dryer. This was the best... More

We stayed a year ago and loved this resort. This year, it was as though we were at a different resort. It was SO NOISY every single day except our last day there! We understand the need to mow the lawn and blow the debris (we call it "mow and blow,") but the workers started very early in the morning!... More

The condo is furnished nicely, but lack of a/c made it really difficult to enjoy. We were there when a hurricane in the area made it hotter and more humid than normal. There was not enough ventilation from the windows and fans. It was just miserable to take a shower only to sweat right afterward. Laundry facilities in this condo... More

We stayed a week at Sea Mountain the middle of June. The place was clean, well kept and well furnished. We had a studio condo. There was no air conditioning but had ceiling fans and a regular fan which was sufficient later at night and in the mornings. It did however get a little warm and humid in the afternoon... More

The Black Sand Beach Park is a quick 1/2 mile walk along the road. The Golf Course was shut down because the mower broke. The tennis Courts are abandoned and the only restaurant within 6 miles is over taken and abandoned by the jungle of the area. This is solitude and serenity in Hawaii. Not a place to bring the... This hotel was a very nice remote place to stay at, with birds and lizards on the porch deck in the mornings. It had no A/C, but there was a fan in my room. It also had a nice pool and hot tub, which was VERY hot. It had complementary wifi, which was very nice.

If I could give 2.5 stars I would. I booked this hotel for a few days during our trip to the big island to spend time near black sand beaches and volcano. There are beautiful views from the pool area. The location was nice, though off the beaten path (so if you do book, get groceries in Kona/ Hilo before... More

If you are looking for a comfortable place close to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, this is the spot! Within 35 to 45 minutes you are at the caldera of Kilauea. Also perfect if you need a quiet place to write reports or essays. It is remote, so bring your food either from the Kona area or Hilo before you... More
