We had the best time. I was traveling with 2 teenagers and a 1 year old, and it couldn't have been better. You might have to drive a little way to get anywhere, but were else can you go and have the view like this while you drive. I wish I was back there already. And the turtles coming up... more

I exchanged my timeshare for a week at Sea Mountain. I don't know about rentals or other ways to book. Many reviews say how remote Sea Mountain is, it all depends upon your perspective. We flew into Kona and rented a car. The lady at the counter asked where we were staying and I told her, she looked at me... more

We arrived at Colony One at Sea Mountain around 6pm at night (be very careful traveling by car-the roads are windy and not much room for error). The lighting and signage to find the property was terrible! It took us 30 minutes to find the property once we were in the area because we were looking for a Diamond/Sunterra Resort... more

Stayed with family 2 nights in a studio next to the golf course. Very clean, quiet ,black sand beach 2mn down the road, When I was swimming down there for my early morning exercise,I was surrounded by Hawkbill Turtles, something I was not expecting at all ! (I went down there walking so I had not seen the signs about the turtles... more

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was two nights as part of a "round the island' trip. This was a great change from the rest of my trip, providing an extremely quiet and relaxing interlude. However I wouldn't want to stay my entire vacation here - a little bit too remote. I stayed in a studio condo on the... more

Unit was fine, no a/c though only ceiling fans which didn't quite do it. Very clean and relatively spacious. Has a washer/dryer which was a plus. Also a dvd player. The property was very well maintained with tidy gardens and clean pool. We were at the back of the complex so had limited view . Our biggest problem was the... more

Stayed for 5 nights in July. Had a two bedroom (#74), nice size for 5 of us. Two stories with two twin beds, one Murphy bed down and one queen upstairs. Air conditioning would have been best, but ceiling fans were okay (quite hot while we were there). Nice to be close to the volcano, but really it's in the... more

This place is great... if you like being hours from civilization! Furthermore, if your flight is delayed and you get there after 6pm... you won't be able to check in. You'll be driving two hours back to town to find anything with availability for the night, which won't be much. Stay away from this place unless you like long drives... more

We rented unit #42 for 3 nights - located at the very end of the condos, overlooking the 18th fairway and a good view of the ocean about 1/2 mile distant. Unit was very comfortable, tastefully decorated, and had all we needed. Extremely quiet and peaceful setting - really away from it all! The Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is about... more

We spent 7 days in unit #33, a one bedroom ocean view upper unit. Condo was extremely clean and well equipped. In addition there were extra blankets, pillows, super-sized TV in living room with DVD, washer/dryer, candles, and various fruit trees (papaya, coconut, banana) right outside our deck. The grounds are impeccable and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Choose... more
