I arrived at the PP hostel, Kona side, on a Sunday, and stayed through Thursday. I had booked a semi-private room, but it turned out that I was given a fully private room, with my own bathroom, for the same price! That was my first awesome discovery here. The place is very well run, and clean. The staff are friendly,... More

Really not a good spot. Ok it's not far from Kona but for 10-15$ more we've found a better place to stay IN Kona at 2 minutes walk from the Ali'i drive. So the Pineapple is not the place. We had not a room, it was something between her room/restroom and living room. So furniture beside the bed and a... More

Pineapple park was a fantastic place to stay, staff especially Annie the owner were so helpful couldn't do enough for you. Accommodation was basic but clean and tidy, excellent value I couldn't have wanted for more. Can't fault or praise enough had a great stay in ironman week which was middle of October 2012. Would highly recommend to stay here... More

I stayed 2 nights at the Pineapple Park during the second week of October 2012. The staff is very friendly -YES they all are...- and you can rent kayak, snorkel gear, boards... I saw hostels cleaner than this place, but they are builting a new hostel, so I'm sure it's going to be great when everything will be done. I... More

Just kidding! Hey listen up! There are a lot of reviews here that are mainly crap! The owners came to the islands to get away from stuck up main lander's that demand, demand, demand! Here it is... You can get a bunk for $30! They have nicer rooms for bigger bucks, but they specialize in a quick cheap place to... More

We found that there was less to do on the Kona side of the Big Island than there was on the Hilo side, but since we were flying in and out of Kona and wanted to see a few things on this side of the island, we decided to spend 2 nights at the Pineapple Park Hostel in Kona. Unfortuantely,... More

I just stayed here about a month ago, on my first trip to Kona. The place is infested with Bedbugs. Don't stay here, you will end up taking them home with you and spending a fortune to get rid of them. Spend a few more dollars and stay at the Manago, it is much cleaner, and the people are much... I arrived at this hostel by bus with the intention of staying two nights and ended up staying four nights. You will most likely want a rental car as it is a hike to get everywhere, unless you do not mind hitch hiking. I was able to get picked up within 5 minutes of standing by the road. Kealakekua Bay... I stayed a week at Pineapple Park and couldn't have done better! Annie was very kind, and the 3 musketeers - Nate, Gabe and Bob - made sure to help me find my way around the island! Thanks, guys, you've been awesome! I would recommend this hostel any time!
